Hello, Yes I know Sylvester, but it's been years since I've heard anything from him. I think maybe about 2010 or so. He used to setup his layout at the Garden City train show that's held in Feb/March.

I'm glad I got the chance to run the AC 60CW's and the SD70MACS before they disappeared. I really loved the 60CW's to the PRB. Although not full 6000hp they can handle those coal trains with little work and with great ease. If you have three of them on a train like did. Man those units would get you going and take care of you like a newborn baby in it's mother's arm. I send my salute for the 6000s from China where I now run high speed train. I want to show my respects to the locomotive I would always have a honor for and miss when they are gone.

I suspect that those windshields are bullet proof but they can still get damaged.
@AJ67901 Жыл бұрын
The have to meet FRA standards. I'm sure that's fairly stringent on what can penetrate the windshield. The issue on this was that the windshield fractured with lots of cracks, making it impossible for the engineer to see while heading into the sun. Thanks for watching.

3:24 - coupling was brutal. He was def over 7 mph for that coupling. My dad is a retired engineer and have said that the safest coupling is at 3 mph, to avoid damaging or even breaking a coupler. Anything faster and you risk damaging a coupler. 5:20 - was the picture perfect way to couple.

Blowing that horn is just stupid. It can be heard throughout towns across America, including by nurses, police, fire department and other shift workers who are trying to sleep. It reminds me of the moronic California law to have toxic flame retardant in every mattress, so some stupid smoker doesn’t immolate himself. Idiot laws by idiot lawmakers.

I used to put sandstone rocks on the rails to watch them explode as the trains passed. The sandstone disintegrated easily with no drama other than noise. ...Then my little brother put a granite stone on the rails, and I did not see it. It nearly derailed the next train. It jumped off the rail and slammed so hard that it shook everything in the area. The noise was insane.
