I agree the wifi setup is so bad! They give out such a small amount of data for free and the cabin crew have no idea how to help. I realised though that I could connect with my VPN turned off. The free data however, was too small to be useful. I think the trick with Scoot is remembering it’s not business class, it’s the extra space section on an ultra low cost airline and then making sure you build your own experience into it. I have a Tokyo flight also coming up on Scoot, but in economy. airlines. Thanks for watching.

I thought you couldn’t consume food/drink from outside on board?
@PlaneShane28 күн бұрын
Hi there! Someone else had asked this question also. This hasn’t been my experience on any flight anywhere (yet!). You can’t bring drinks or liquids (liquid based food included) through security, and you are not supposed to consume items that are purchased duty free. Alcohol not purchased on board is typically from consumption on all airlines. Hot drinks which can burn are often not allowed but this varies. Solid foods generally can be taken through security and onboard. Many countries have environmental and customs requirements where you cannot bring certain food into the destination country, even if it’s provided to you on the aircraft (fruit, meats, nuts etc) With the huge range of dietary and medical requirements these days it would be unsafe to prevent people from eating and drinking, there is simply no way the airline could cater properly especially on long haul flights that connect across the globe. One thing to note is that crew can direct a passenger to cease offensive behaviour, and if your food is particularly pungent, this could be problematic; fish on a plane seems to permeate for example. If they did decide to ban outside food and drinks, it would make travelling with kids almost unbearable. Thanks for watching! And good question. Shane

What a lovely video! Just wondering if you can order additional items from inflight menu if you've already ordered book the cook beforehand?
@PlaneShaneАй бұрын
Thank you! You certainly can, if they’re available that is. SQ don’t over cater meals (or Krug, so don’t delay on that option!) and typically there is only one of each meal loaded on to the aircraft to minimise wastage. Nothing is too much trouble though, and if something is unavailable and there are similar items in Business, they’ll look to see what they can source or create for you. Nothing is too much trouble. Thanks for watching! Shane

Good pickup! We’re typically working around other passengers who have boarded at the same time. In a smaller cabin like PE early boarding is a valued benefit, so it fills really quickly and has a lot of through traffic to economy. ANA is one of the airlines i am considering for a west coast to Asia flight. i know it's asking a lot, but i'd like to see what premium economy is like behind a row of seats. the bulkhead ones obviously will not have a crowding issue so i am wondering what the experience is for a person in premium economy when the seat in front of the is fully reclined. can a person get out of their window seat when the front seat is reclined and they have a passenger neighbor as well? that is one of the key items that would tell me if premium economy for a particular airline is truly worth it.
@PlaneShane3 ай бұрын
Hello! Unfortunately Premium Economy on just about every airline will have restrictive access to the aisle for the window passenger if they are not in a bulkhead, the aisle passenger will still need to vacate their seat for you to comfortably pass. Premium economy with direct aisle access would be a dream though. I also love my space, and often find the last row of premium economy can be beneficial because you can leave your seat in the reclined position during meal services so you maximise your ability to manoeuvre if you want to beat the post meal bathroom rush. Best of luck picking though; and if access is super important, the bulkhead seats on any ANA aircraft are definitely your best choice. Thanks for watching! Shane

Great video! It makes me want to try out United’s Premium Economy! My spouse and I will be traveling to Asia later this year and are interested in trying out Premium Economy. I curious if they padding in the seats make it comfortable enough for someone who suffers with chronic back pain. How did you find the padding of the seats? Thank you!
@PlaneShane4 ай бұрын
Thank you! When it comes to seat padding and airplanes, typically they’re all pretty average; even in premium cabins like this. It’s deliberate because the weight adds to fuel burn and the accountants just don’t like it. My thoughts on this product though, which may help in some way, is that in premium plus on the wide body international routes you do get an extra checked bag for free, which gives you some extra flexibility to shuffle your belongings around and take a full size pillow or back support cushion to help better position yourself during the flight (without having to leave half of your clothes at home). On this aircraft, the groupings of 2 seats are also less disruptive for you on a long haul flight than a row of 3, where you’d have to work around an extra stranger needing to use bathroom etc. So when you do find a comfortable position, especially for sleep, you can stay that way for longer. Another consideration for me, is that my better half likes the aisle seat on long haul to stretch frequently and I need the window seat for filming, so rows of 2 are really valuable to us personally. Being able to move and reposition more readily and still get the benefit of access to the window to see where your journey has taken you is definitely a plus in my mind. Best of luck in your decision making! And thanks for watching! Shane
