How about letting it ride for a couple years and use factual data on the results. It certainly will increase your odds of success but by what percentage? 30, 20, 1% increase? Even if you know exactly where the animal is, that archery stalk below 100 yards is extremely difficult considering very rough terrain, wind, and noise. This to me closes the gap of getting into that stalk. You can get into that stalk 100 times with this tool and fail in closing the last 100 yard distance which leaves you with absolutely no increase in your success. Let the data tell the truth and make a decision on “what to ban”.

I can tell the pdf file on the top 10 and the data is not correct in the least bit. I'm pretty sure I never seen the 15 to 20 lots that Starved Rock State & Wildlife Ground. Witch 1 good smaller lot of 275 acres has at least 2 to 5 giants either traveling through and out 5he 5 at least 2 of them core it out & call it home. Great archery hunting. Every year I hunted tht lot and always bagged a couple does . I do have 1 giant 16 point tripple drop tine buck on the wall that I slaughtered out there way back in 05. I don't hunt at all except mushroom & stanky leg these days. Hopefully a youngster reads this and just maybe hunted it till becoming a KILLA of the woods

Two bull elk killed at 250 yards in the same herd within 30 seconds of each other the shot were almost identical one was with a 300 win mag with 175 grain bullets 6.8 was 165 grain bullets the bigger bull was shot with 6.8 it hit the dirt immediately the other bull stayed on it’s feet long enough for a second shot all I can see is I’m very impressed with the 6.8 people ask will it really perform with a 300 win absolutely with out a doubt
@jimedick949610 күн бұрын
I can’t say enough about the 6.8 Western. I’ve taken three large bulls, all one shot kills. One of them dropped immediately, and the other two made it about 20 yards and dropped. Those shots were long distance of 574, 588, & 656 yards. Due to where I hunt, closing a gap between canyons is impossible, so it’s a requirement for longer shots. The 6.8 Western is a gem of an elk cartridge.

@mikemelina7395Ай бұрын
The only thing against the 6.8W is the comparison they put on their website. They used lower BC bullets in the larger magnums. Why not use the same bullets comparing energy at range with comparable BC bullets?

Yea I hear ya on the hood. I feel like everything they have the hoods are too snug. I know the clothing is very form fitting, but the hood is the one thing I like being looser

How do you like it other than that?

@Recruitcreative game changer. I don't feel like the stay puft marshmallow walking through the woods anymore like I did with all my walmart clothes. And it regulates my body temp way better. This is my first season with sitka so we will see. So far so good. Its all form fitting so it takes a bit to get used to but I can move well in it like he said, the flexibility is great. My buddy has all first lite and his gear is really nice too.
@twistnshout3031Ай бұрын
@Recruitcreative some of the clothes are soft on the outside. They should all be that water proof stuff on the outside. But they're not bad. My buddies first lite stuff is all the good material on the outside that wipes burrs off easier.

The hood isn’t a problem if you are wearing the fanatic hoodie with a mask. Agree that it’s a little crunchy but remember this is designed for rifle hunters where silence isn’t as important. You get what you pay for. If you want cheap buy redhead or Cabelas instinct.

Customer service said they can not push update, and nothing i can do but go buy a new camera. Not under warranty. Not happy. This happened a long time ago, and thought it was my fault. Just restarted all 3 cameras accounts. One showed MUDDY CAM, the other MANIFEST. Firmware different, Same camera.

I appreciated hearing your thoughts and feedback on this product. Yes, it does add an advantage for hunters in certain scenarios, and as a traditional archery hunter myself, I deeply connect with the primal aspect of fair chase. I see your intent, and it’s genuine. However, regarding your elk hunt, consider that you used a device with stored map data from orbiting satellites, allowing you to analyze terrain, mark a location, and plan a route-all through technology in your hand. Or even e-scout on your couch at home becoming knowledgeable with an area and having never stepped foot in the unit saving you hours, days even. It’s incredible what’s available to us! I’ve used the same tools in the field; it’s smart, tactical, and there’s no shame in it. Is all that fair chase? So, to say this new feature crosses the line? I have to respectfully disagree. The tech you currently use might have seemed “unfair” by the standards of 20 years ago. Just being able to mark the location of a downed animal is something I’m grateful exists now. Hunters know the heartache of losing an animal, and if this feature helps us recover game more effectively, that’s a win for conservation. Ultimately, you decide how to use it, and let the rest be the rest. Ten years from now, there will likely be advancements beyond what we see today. Best of luck in the woods this fall!
@RecruitcreativeАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I agree that it’s a big win when using it to recover an animal and a smart tactic. Nobody wants to lose an animal. Ultimately the decision should be left up to the hunter. Good luck to you as well!
@TheBowdoc1Ай бұрын
Don’t turn hunting into Trump versus Harris. We are all hunters. As hard as it is to draw a tag I should have the option to use NO Technology Advantages or ALL the technology advancements available I choose to use when it takes 5-25 years for a western tag. Don’t take away my advantages I choose to use if you are the guy who wants to use a recurve, flint lock or open sight 30-30.
@RecruitcreativeАй бұрын
I agree with what you are saying. At the end of the day the user should be able to decide whether they want to use it or not without it being a “ban”. Good luck this fall!

I can see you like the 6.8 but you have to be realistic how you compare thing. He tried to say the 7 mm is hard to find a 6.8 is even worse last company make it for them than the seven PRC. You got a lot of good things you say but when you compare and try to influent toward the 6.8 you make yourself non trustable because you're biased just make the facts

@ebttt Have not had any issues finding 6.8. Have also seen plenty of 7PRC on the shelves as well. User preference, don't think either is the wrong choice

Also the deer are not “blown out” like you suggest. Deer aren’t leaving the area. The parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express in Salem Illinois was where I seen the biggest buck I’ve ever seen in my life. Easy 180 closer to 200 main frame 10 with kickers off both G2s and split brows
@leewilliams6354Ай бұрын
I hunt public land in Illinois every year. It’s an over the counter state for the combo license. Every year I kill a 140 inch buck and see 150-170 inch bucks. We don’t shoot 120 inch deer and neither does the majority. I live in Florida btw. Any hunter that is a good woodsman can kill a mature 4 plus year old buck. I am leaving today Nov 3rd and won’t come home until I fill my tag.
