I used Mega Zorbe Hydrophobic Melamine Foam on my 2019 ram 1500 classic. I thought I had to take the whole headliner out too but ended up just removing the 1. sun visors 2. the two front pillars 3. the two back clothes hangers. The headliner rests on the 2 middle pillars so no need to mess with those. You need to disconnect the back light by opening it and unclipping it. And thats it. we rested it on the seats and put the foam on which is really really really sticky. IF YOU TOUCH THE STICKY SIDE THE STICKY SIDE WILL STICK TO YOU AND YOU DESTROY THE PIECE YOU TOUCHED. so you have to be as careful as possible. You may also need to cut one wire in the back passenger side as mine ended up being too short and hanging up the headliner. No idea what it was for - thin green wire.

Green wire would be ground for something. Thank you for your comment, here. I'm getting ready to do my 2016 1500 and knowing I don't have to do everything this guy does is a HUGE help. Sun visors, two front pilars, two back clothes hangers. MUCH easier. Will give it a go! Even if all I do is get 50% of the roof covered, it's got to be an improvement.

Is this seriously the only way to drop the headliner!? That’s insane. I have crazy leaks coming from what seems like everywhere and wanted to drop the headliner to try and determine where it’s coming from, but no way I’m taking out all the seats and everything. That’s crazy. Maybe I’ll just flex seal my entire damn truck lol.

Hi Jack, that's a great video man! I was thinking today about how to better cool off my Ram truck. I can feel heat pouring in from the rooftop therefore I'm glad I saw your video. If you don't mind me asking, did you by chance do a temperature check on the roof interior before and after your install? I'm curious how much it helps. I've had ceramic tint put on my windows and while it helps, I still think the overwhelming majority of the heat is coming in through the roof. And what's your recommendation on most bang-for-your-buck as far as dynaliner and dynamat if someone wanted to help stop heat through the roof? Thanks.

@Zanezach
@Zanezach Жыл бұрын
Heya Ryan. There are a few vids out there but essentially on the 4th Gens you can put extra washers as spacers on the floor bolts. It raises the back seat just a bit. It creates just the right amount of space at the hooks behind the seat. When you fold the rear seat up, it clears those hooks, allowing you to then drop the backrest. Super if you need to access that extra space. There is another way to do this -- cut the hooks themselves, but I do not recommend this. Hope that helps!

Good video. I've already done the floor, back wall, c-pillars, and lower b-pillars hand was wondering if I should do the roof too. Looking at what's up there I'd definitely say "yes". Although I used "B-quiet". It's half the price of dynamat but works pretty much the same. Peel and stick and comes in 1 ft by 50 foot rolls. Thanks.

You may have a blown speaker. Take a panel popper tool (Harbor Freight sells these in a kit, if you don't have one). While you're in there, and removing the speaker, you can place some dynaliner (not dynamat though) and it will help with resonance. Good luck!

Awe buddy....that's a lot of work..there is absolutely zero power loss by using factory wire.we usually run amplified speaker cable to the inside of the door grommet. There will be no advantage to do other wise. The engineers only use 16g wire on the speaker leads, don't need much more in "higher-quality" speaker cables lol. They all do the same thing.....conduct electricity......
@austinaldridge150
@austinaldridge150 4 жыл бұрын
Swagger Vader typically you don’t need to run 16 gauge wire for aftermarket door speakers UNLESS the speakers you’re using are going to be fed more then 75 RMS. Factory speaker wire is very thin and can’t handle more then that. There is very noticeable power-loss and a lot of resistance when you try to push more then 75 through the wire and makes your speakers not perform to their full potential. 🤷‍♂️ I would personally never use high-power demanding speakers exactly for this reason. I prefer clean installs that don’t add more headaches or work.

I also own a 2010 Ram 1500 and I'm having a problem with my map lights...they won't turn on when pressing them while the doors are closed. They will only turn on by opening a door. However, they will turn off when pressing them while a door is open. Additionally, my visor vanity lights are not working at all. My suspicion is bad wiring above the headliner because the schematic diagram shows they all share a ground. Anyone else have this problem and is there an easier way to troubleshoot/repair?

Got a question, when removing the upper b pillars, did you have to take lower pillars off first to get top off? And also once you get seatbelt bolt out along with 2 tab bolts, do you just pull the upper pillar out like it’s held in with speed clips or is there something else you have to maneuver out?
@Zanezach
@Zanezach 5 жыл бұрын
Right, bottom B first then top, because it exposes a torx bolt. Once that bolt is removed, plastic clips keep it in place and you can gently pull down and away to remove the top B. Good luck!

Ah so it’s just not the seatbelt torx there’s also one underneath the bottom pillar for the top one? And also I’d have to remove the door sills to get bottom out? Only if I folded it like a taco, I fear. The windshield is most likely method for extraction. The headliner is rather rigid and it would have resulted in a permanent crease or worse.

You can take a small screwdriver or plastic panel puller kit (various small plastic extractor tools from Harbor Freight, Amazon, etc.) and gently pry them off one and a time. But no, do not use brute force to pull these out, the ends may snap off and reseating the clip will be problematic. Good luck!
