Would be a perffect pairing! The Evo4 has phantom power, and the Ethos needs to be powered 👊

1:59 That voice saying "101.9 The Fox" takes me back to my childhood! I miss those years so much! When the radio was Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Pitbull, etc. That was the best era of music in my opinion. Sitting in the back of the car while my mum or dad drove while this stuff was playing! I remember one time my favourite song at the time (Earthquake by Labrinth) came on the radio, we were almost home, and I made my mum rush home so I could catch it on my big stereo I had, we made it just in time to hear most of the song, I was so happy! It was such little things like that that brought me happiness. I'm so sad music like that doesn't get made anymore, and also that I'm now grown up with continually added responsibilities, I just want to be that kid jumping for joy at hearing my favourite song on the radio. I could be biased toward this music because I grew up with it, being a 2005 baby, but it just feels so much better than any other era personally.

@@TimLeeOZ all good man! This is some of my favourite memories from my childhood, the radio was sooooooo good! I don’t really listen to the radio anymore but I sort of assume it’s not the same anymore? What’s your thoughts?

It’s funny, because in the radio industry the ‘talent managers’ tell us to ONLY talk as if you are talking to a friend. No pitching your voice, just focusing completely on the story. They keep saying you should be ‘completely yourself and do nothing extra’. You can imagine how Dutch radio sounds. Exactly - I hardly ever listen Dutch radio anymore.

How interesting! In the USA, UK, Australia, and New Zealand there is that style too- but it’s mainly referred to as “talkback” or found on public access (NPR, PBS, etc) with shows like ‘This American Life’.. Anything with music from the 1960’s onwards though, and the beer-garden too all the way ;)

This video is such bullshit. Unnecessary button pushing...fading up and down....moving around. Reminds me of that video...of that female DJ pretending to push buttons.

This mic didn't really cut it for me, it's good rejection for large diaphragm condenser but the tone of the mic, is not meant for broadcast or spoken words. I wish they made something solely focus on spoken words, perhaps something with their 38mm capsule tune specifically for spoken words, that would be my dream mic. As of today, I still prefer the RE20, SM7B and the Ethos.

yeah its thin and harsh at parts (especially in flat)
@annekedebruyn779711 ай бұрын
I disagree if you are speaking generally and not personally. It's really good for both, especially for broadcast. It cuts through a mix well and it has fantastic articulation on air. Way better than the Rode Broadcaster, which is by far the most used purpose made broadcast condenser. For spoken word it is a bit more depended on your voice, technique and destination I guess. Sure I wouldn't record a audiobook with it but it shines on things like promos. If your main gig is spoken word, seek if you can try out the Atlantis. It's a bit more V-shaped in its EQ than the TLM103 but in a positive way. It's probably their most tuned-for-voice mic with an 38mm capsule.
