Thanks for posting this. I'm going through something similar with a 4090 having high hotspot temps and I ordered this putty in case the thermal pads need replacing. It is not easy to find the exact specs and diagrams online and very few go through the trouble fixing thermals let alone measuring. Sorry you had to go through all this but watching it gives me hope that I can be successful as well.

Yes you can use Arctic mx4 for the vram and vrms but i would recommend whaever your laptop used for example thermal pads or thermal putty. For thermal pads you have to be careful of the pads thickness.

Yeah, UX Pro is a little stiff compared to other options. The current best putties are Honeywell HT10000, Upsiren UTP-8, Fehonda LTP81 and Laird T-Putty 607, although I suspect Laird T-Putty 910 will be right up there with Honeywell HT10000, just hard to get T-Putty 910 currently as it is fairly new. UX Pro does work well in Videocards, but is too expensive if you ask me, and UTP-8 is slightly better, much softer, and much cheaper.

@@snarksdomain Do these putties dry out and degrade cooling performance over time, just like the pads? I'm looking for a permanent solution so that I don't have to open up my GPU constantly.
@snarksdomainАй бұрын
@@user-f1ff23 The depends on the quality of the Silicone OIl used as the carrier fluid. Some are better than others. The Putty that set the bar high so far has been TG-PP10 (Discontinued). Many of these other putties are much newer so we don't have great long term data on them yet. Honeywell HT10000 is good for at least 2 years so far (from what Eugeney_KH told me of his customers' experiences). Upsiren UX Pro Ultra was still soft for me after 16.5 months in my laptop. TG-PP10 was soft after 2.5 years use in my 3090 with Copper shims. We should have an idea over the coming years as to which ones can match the longevity of TG-PP10. That being said, even once putty does stiffen it should still transfer heat okay. The trick is to pair it with something on the core that will last just as long, and for that I recommend Honeywell PTM7950 or similar PCM.

just use k5 pro, its the closest thing you can get to the factory blue stuff, for cpu use liquid metal and for gpu use MX6. MX4 is ok but it doesn't last that long on bare cpu/gpu die's as it pumps out due to its low viscosity.

@wage66813 ай бұрын
the gpu got too hot and shut off the computer due to making zero contact with the heatsink. the thermal pads were too thick. it's easier to just use paste on the vrms.

Maybe heating up bottom of the pin and reattching it? The pins came of very cleanly, so I assume this is possible?

What are some of the benefits of being able to flash open source firmware on earbuds? I would love to see a project that works on more repairable earbuds I guess someone has built repairable cases for the airpods
@agathakazar Жыл бұрын
I’d say that open source firmware mods are usually better than stock in ways that they fix the problems that the original devs left behind (that is when they’re mature enough, for now I’m staying on stock). That, or maybe if you enjoy tinkering yourself. Repairability is great but it seems that the smaller something is the smaller are the chances of it being repairable.

Hi I have a dumb question my flipper zero has an SD card mount problem, whenever I try to insert the SD card it flashes a SD card mount error problem and I have tried different ways to mount it. Yet when I just barely just insert the SD card the flipoet zero says I should take a red pill and chill and it seems to work fine until I try and Click the card into place where again is flashes the mount error priblem is there any way to fix this problem and save the data it already has on the card? it is very frustrating. 🙁
@agathakazar Жыл бұрын
Heya, assuming you’ve tried another SD card and it behaves in the exact same way, it sounds like a hardware problem. What caused this problem? No idea, my device will only start detecting the SD card when it’s pushed into the slot past the body. Since you mention saving data I’ll assume it worked some time ago and now it doesn’t. Did something happen inbetween? Could there be dirt inside the SD slot?

The little springy thingies? They should be soldered to the small pcb and they need to be conductive for the ibutton stuff to work.

@agathakazar2 жыл бұрын
Replacing it shouldn’t be too hard, but getting a screen that works might be. AFAIK they’re still not selling any replacement parts, and the screens were ordered specifically in bulk. You should totally poke their support though to show that there’s demand for things like screens and batteries. If you get your hands on a replacement screen you might need a soldering iron to to de-solder the old one at two points (I think they’re not only holding it in place but supplying power to the backlight as well). Also it might be just glued to the backlight part somehow, not sure about that. The flat flex cable is easy to disconnect and reconnect. P.S. the screen PN is ERC12864FAMF03-1-S7 by EastRising.
