Healer/valks are some of the best duo classes, mid melee is very strong for 5 man, and mid caster is one of the strongest 8 man. This is pretty universally recognized by skilled players in my opinion. Most of what you're seeing in this video is people underestimating how long a fight with a hero is, and making lots mistakes.

They're not as good as you remember, because people can just kill the pet. However if you run with an enhance cleric, the pet would get a lot tankier, so might be a fun combo, but they certainly are not OP

PL isn't really a huge thing on Eden since leveling is pretty fast with a good battleground group in Eden, however if you get high loyalty players and run POC or DF aoe farm it can be pretty quick. Bainshee pulse hero and druid would probably be good for that

Well firstly it doesn't have access to an item database, so it can't do that. Your best easy option is to look at uploaded templates by players. It does that for SC items to fill in gaps, though. If that did exist I still wouldn't rely on it, because a good template is focused on procs first, stats second. Procs will matter a lot more in a fight than perfectly capping everything. For instance, healer HoT chest is 30% HP over 30seconds and ignores disease. If that procs twice in a fight, that's 60%hp. Might be ok with some minor resist or stat holes to fit that in.

Spiritmaster/skald are going to be pretty great beginner classes if you're going Mid. Lot of utility and group friendly

I played Shrouded Isles (patch 1.65, last patch before ToA) for over 2 years on Phoenix and Atlas. I like the simplicity but it also is not very well balanced for tanks, heavily favors casters. The 1.9x Eden is emulating has a lot better class balance overall, and got rid of artifacts and the grind associated with ToA which no one wanted. So imo it's the best of both worlds

@@zeathedaocgaming That was regarding the old system where you started as a base class. It was from lvl 1 to 5. It wasn't a question. I'm an old school Necro player and been playing DAOC on and off since it launched in 2003. I hit lvl 50 in a couple of days without even trying after restarting on Eden. Thank god they have the old Necro. Hate what live did to the class.

I’ve been trying all day. When I get to authorizing my discord account after the launcher is just loads then sends me to a 504 bad gateway page. Can’t figure it out even looked at the forums.

did you join the discord server? That might help. There's also a technical support thread in there that will help get it resolved

I think it is limited to the max resolution you have windows set to.

Try higher resolution with dpi scaling? 1080p works fine for DAOC

@@zeathedaocgaming Yeah cheers for the suggestion. No idea how to do dpi scaling. Anyway I lowered my windows res to 1080p which is now fine. At 1440 I couldn't read the text even on a 32" monitor.

The only time it's a bit harder to find action is between 12a -1a cst. Otherwise this game is going super healthy with consistent action throughout the day. 22k people in Eden discord and growing, probably about 1-1.5k or so at peak time of day, not sure. I think S2 launch was 3.5-4k concurrent players

Definitely made easier by having recorder and only a few styles, but it was a lot of fun and made fights more rewarding for sure.

@@zeathedaocgaming Their is no "solo zone" it is a solo bonus zone...you get a bonus for being solo. Its an RVR zone. Solo zones do not exist.

You're right there are no hard rules. There's just a subsection of the community that exists solo/duo/5 and 8 that prefer to find fair fights. Soloers are a very small community that know each other, play all realms and enjoy duels. If you go in the box zone and add on a duel, they're going to gang up on you. It's not a hard rule, but it's part of respect in that area to those people. Everywhere else that rule doesn't exist (other than 8 man's in EV) so just don't gang up on people in the box zone and you'll be fine. If you want brawls and to mess around, the duo deserter zones are a lot more chaotic. But if you got 5, might as well go to 5 man 'bonus' zone etc.

Earth wizzy is actually pretty decent for soloing if you distance on someone (maybe minus charge tanks). Nearsight, DoT, big burst dmg

@@zeathedaocgaming I'm looking on Eden now and a wizard doesn't seem so appealing as it did. I'm thinking of a social type of class like a minstrel or a cleric. Someone who's always useful. We'll see 🤣

The Eden team is currently experimenting with Unreal Engine.
