@@giuseppemarino7753 so its actually super easy and built into eden. Just go to options at character select, and select Custom under UI settings. Then you will be running Bysan for Eden, since its pre installed :)

I loved the vid. I played DAoC for ~11 years. Have many rr9+ characters. I have tried to come back and always felt like it was hard to come back because I forgot all these QoL things. Great job. I still don't think it has enough modernizations to it for me to play but man do I have so many fond memories of this game.

Have had friends play daoc since 2001, theyve been trying to get me to play a freeshard for probably 6 years or so. As a WoW guy its definitely a culture shock. Loved this kind of video and would love more it was genuinely helpful and actually have me considering just trying it out now that i have some info on what im doing haha

As someone who’s played every mmo , if you have friends definitely play , it’s the best pvp I’ve ever played on any mmo and the lore and world are beautiful even with those 90 graphics . Currently installing it right now

I played from release for about a solid 10 years, so 2001-2011. Despite putting 16+ years into WoW after that (with some overlap), no other game has ever come close to DAOC. I've tried most of the freeshards, but THIS is what I always wanted in a freeshard. Not "let's roll back the clock to Patch X" but "let's use the bones of this game to make our own new thing." I am downloading Eden tonight and I'm stoked asf.

I recently changed my settings. Future videos will be 2x bitrate and 1080p /60fps. I record these primarily on the Steam Deck - so I was attempting to save CPU load, but found some better settings that work great. Up from here!

Just dowloaded this and started playing for the first time in like 10 years. I played this game a bunch as kid but was never very good. I feel like I was pretty familiar with everything covered in this video, but I would love some more advanced guides about stats, specs, and templates. Your template building guide was a bit much for me so if you could make a vid about the basics of building templates that would be awesome

Thanks for the comment. I'll see if I can make a stats overview and simplify gear in a future video. If you're just playing fresh I would suggest using a default template you can find in Zencraft. Then build one for yourself (or modify it) if you find a good RoG down the road.

I like the fact that you can also queue weapon skils too. So you can press a button for a skill which reacts on parry or block, and immediately press the skill for default. So if you parry the reactionary skill will get triggered but if you don't then the default gets triggered.

The UI is the weakest part of the game for sure. However with Bysan UI it is significantly improved

You have to right click the back portal now and click "Teleport". They patched the ability to walk in, cause it happened on accident way too often.

Is there anyplace I can get some help , getting the Eden shard, I got screwed up with discord. I played a long time ago , tried Gaheris this year for a while , but no one is there. I am not very technical. I do better on video or phone than reading...

Logging into and connecting discord is definitely a requirement for Eden. What was the problem setting up discord?

I am not sure but I used my E-Mail in the past and discord wouldnt let me verify my email. In the past I could talk to someone and they could walk me through the solution, the world doesnt work that way anymore no one to talk to , I have some kind of dyslexia and when I try to do stuff from writing I get all confused, maybe at 81 I shouldnt be playing MMORPG... LOL

@@garycarter2069I think you're doing pretty great for 81 and knowing DAoC haha. Unfortunately I can't help too much remotely. I would recommend trying to email discord support again to get it up and running. Once you have the discord logins it should be pretty easy from following directions on the Eden website. Once in discord you can get technical help from Eden's discord.

The population is still very good. Midnight to 2am or so EST is going to be the slowest time of the day with the least population but you'll still find some fights etc

I can't get it to work, made Discord, followed the steps in the Eden site bute when I click the button to start Eden and it brings up the Discord authorization I clack accept or whatever and then nothing just and endless loop of clicking launch Eden and Discord Authorization. Frustrating because I really wanted to play.

You can try using control V to paste the discord authorization into the Eden launcher. There is also a technical issues thread in there discord where people help resolve these issues

Anyway to change font size on just certain windows? Some are soo small....when I change my UI size many of the windows go off-screen. Additionally, anyway to change mouse turn speed

Mouse turn speed would be your hardware mouse DPI settings or in windows/Linux. You should be able to right click chat window for font resize, or in the Bysan UI settings which is in the UI folder inside DAoC installation

Does eden players go old bosses that require 3 or more fgs or the dragons ml10 boss any of the toa bosses or df bosses

Yep there are zerg PvE fights, probably the easiest way to get geared up. Optional though

My game resolution seems to be locked to whatever I have windows set to. Don't know if there's any way around this?

I think it is limited to the max resolution you have windows set to.

Try higher resolution with dpi scaling? 1080p works fine for DAOC

@@zeathedaocgaming Yeah cheers for the suggestion. No idea how to do dpi scaling. Anyway I lowered my windows res to 1080p which is now fine. At 1440 I couldn't read the text even on a 32" monitor.

It's in seasons so you keep RR but it resets every 6mo or so depending on population dip

don't recommend troll, they are much bigger and easier to click and spot in rvr which is the main attraction of the game for me

You're referring to Live. Eden is very busy, even deep into S2 there is tons of action
