My yard is almost EXACTLY like this except in poor condition. Erosion, sloped, and ROCKY. We moved in about a year ago and I NEED to have a nice yard for my son to play in, it’s the ONE thing I hate about our house. Will having a professional come out give us a good head start, and then just following up with what you’ve done here? Also, irrigation system probably isn’t in the budget, but I plan to purchase multiple tripod sprinklers and water in “zones”. Thoughts?

Trying to decide between this one and the cheaper non self propelled model. I don't think the auger driving the blower is much of an issue. My dad has had the gas version for years and I don't think he's had any issues with it. You shouldn't have to run the snow blower side to side like if you were shoveling. It should throw the snow far enough to run length wise up and down the driveway and be a lot faster with much less turning around.

There is no seed for this type of Bermuda. You have to either sod or sprig it. I paid $3/bushel of sprigs for this renovation.

Love your video. The pro plugger is a great tool. As other commentators have mentioned, use the rings. A 2 inch plug seems to be Ok with bermuda. No need to bust a boiler by slamming the plugger into the ground, a simple screw action works well and makes a clean edge as well as separating the roots below the ground surface. Empty the tube when you get 8 or so plugs. What I found was a good Idea and I didn't see it in your video, use the empty (ungrown) plugs to backfill the good ones, they slot straight in.

My rear lawn is loaded with moss. I got one of those electronic ph testers, and it is showing levels of 8.2 to 8.6. So I'm going to see if I can get some elemental sulfur. Last year we put down moss out and it worked which has iron. But here we a year later and he moss is back. So perhaps the sulfur will work better.

This mower is an absolute disaster. I've never encountered a mower with so many problems. The blade belt was destroyed after just five months of use, and Toro refused to cover it under warranty, calling it a 'wearable part.' From day one, the blades constantly disengaged. After just one season of homeowner use, it's nearly impossible to start. I get more exhausted trying to start this junk than actually mowing the yard. Toro has completely lost its reputation, pushing a poorly designed and overall terrible product onto consumers.

I have a set of those low lift mulching blades for my gas timemaster and it does the same thing as the etimemaster, not lifting the grass up as well. It’s definitely a blade issue. Try it with the high lift blades that comes with the gas timemaster and see how those work. It’ll probably solve the clogging issue when bagging. I always side discharge so I never have to deal with a clogged deck regardless, always a super clean cut.

I know this video is numerous years old, and would love to know how things are now with your lawn. What struck me most about your video, is how well you were mentally and spiritually handling your fungus woes. Your lawn looked horrible, and your home looked so beautiful, so I can completely imagine what a struggle it must have been to try and keep from plunging into turf depression. You kept yourself together very nicely. Well done. My new rhizomatous tall fescue lawn, that all my neighbors watched me carefully install and baby, has been completely decimated by fungus. It now in September looks like the whole thing was sprayed with roundup. And I have painstakingly gone organic with my lawn soil for years. Compost, composted manure, John & Bob's terribly overpriced fertilizer, Tiger sulfur, kelp, humid acid; get the picture. Absolutely sickening. Thought I needed therapy in the beginning. Now I'm just trying to recover. My ph is very high, will just keep plugging away at that. Fungicides are not an option for me.
@TheLawnGuardian4 ай бұрын
@@Dan4052 the lawn is okay. I've stopped trying to keep it looking nice throughout the summer because I don't feel like spending the money on the water and fungicides. I've been keeping minimal water to it and letting it go dormant and it recovers to some degree in the fall. I'm gradually transitioning my lawn to Bermuda now. Thanks for the support and watching my videos.

I bought the etimemaster last year and I’m having the same issues that you described. When I contacted the dealer, they said they haven’t had anyone reporting those issues. And added that I’m probably mowing when it’s wet, which I don’t. They did suggest new high lift blades which they gladly sold me. Haven’t tried them but if it fixes this issue, Toro should have added them to the original machine!

So I owned a gas timemaster and now bought an electric timemaster. I agree with all you said except there are two new points. When you switch to the high max power setting the mower is much more powerful. Also on either setting it went through my bermuda lawn with ease where my gas version really bogged down. I got a better cut on BERMUDA specifically with the electric. I'm way happier with it overall. So much quieter and hopefully much more maintenance free. We shall see.
