Hey I build cabins, and sell cabin kits. I build and sell Remote cabins across southeast alaska, and beyond. That is mainly what I do with our timber. We also sell lumber, timber, beams, like we are here. These beams finish an order of 3x12's that we sold here locally.

I've been running a very similar mill in New Zealand for over 20 years. I think you need more revs on the saw and water on the blades to cool them.

Just a couple of things. I wish you had cleaned the leaves off the bonnet and tidied up the butts. That would hide the fact that you undercut the scarf on both trees 😂

The steering in your logging truck is it OK or is it worn out to the point where you have to turn the wheel three times to get it to move over an inch. I’ve never seen a vehicle steering wheel as loose as that before. I’m not complaining, but I am sort of. I think you edited out too much on this video. You could possibly make what you did on this video. Into another one. Stay safe God bless. ✌️🇨🇦

the issues with using all the gears with that setup is many gears are overlapping, or under. That truck in a tractor, you are operating the motor, and using the gear combination to go a certain speed with a certain rpm. The throttle on those is either off or on, exactly like a farming tractor not like a pickup at all. The truck isn't happy outside of a certain rpm. It'll shift incredibly awesome if its where its supposed to be. It'll slide into gear perfectly. What motor do you have?

This place is actually a remote site, with no inspections. It is very nice. I do both, building in the heart of the capital city, and building remote cabins. It is really nice to be out working off grid. Thank You for Commenting Buddy Sterling

That looks like a lot of fun, very nice Sitka Spruce logs, they look like they are really slow-growing. A little further south they can grow pretty fast.

you're a lot better at shifting than some guys I've seen. You don't need to start with the auxiliary box in first very often, and definitely not empty. You'll get the hang of it really fast. It just splits the gears on the main box. I usually always started with it in second, and didn't shift it through the first couple gears. Depending on weight and grade. The trick is you're try to keep the rpm in operating range at all times. With a Detroit it's 1850 to 2150. At all times.
