Uncle got me a .22/.410 42 when i was a kid in the 80's, and it was old when I got it. As a kid i would walk the backroads taking grouse and rabbit. Love that thing. Still have it. A year or so ago the front sight kind of disintegrated and i realised for the first time ever that it had been a piece of wood someone had jimmied in there decades ago. I have since replaced the front sight.

Awesome Buddy. I got mine from my Grandpa, it was his good friends childhood rifle - So basically already 3 generations old. I love it. My selector broke, and I was eventually able to rebuild it, and replaced the 22 firing pin. They are awesome guns. I wish they still made them brand new.

@@secondgrowthhomes very nice video. I've been using Husqvarna corded electric saws for years in my woodlot. Both felling trees and sectioning delivered timber. Yes, long extension cords. Works beautifully. Oh, I live about an hour's drive from Huskvarna, which is where the saws come from. I'm a dual Swedish / US citizen. I vote in Arizona, my last residence in the US. I own this saw. It is great for taking down a tree because you can hear if something starts to crack. My guess is that the battery was empty after this one tree though. I use mine for 10" trees and under, and can cut up the entire tree into 16in logs. If I try to cut through a single 16in hardwood the battery will overheat and if i take it easy I might get 2-3 cuts.

Look at this moment 7:33 on the video kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zoa4ZXuKbZlmg7M You have zero protection, and you're doing it solo too? If someone did that to me, they’d be fired on the spot and told to change jobs. You didn’t even put the brake on, damn it! You're alone in the middle of nowhere! @@secondgrowthhomes If you don’t see a problem here, it’s either because you’re oblivious or you're being extremely dishonest. Maybe you've been doing this job for 17 years without an accident, but it’s like smoking your whole life without getting cancer... It’s not professional at all. When you have a company and represent it on social media, there needs to be a minimum level of seriousness. You’re in a wet, slippy environment with a guide that’s too big for the job you’re doing, without chaps, wearing a shirt that could get caught at any moment in your chain... Man, if you had accidentally pressed the trigger at that moment, you’d have been feeding the wolves by now... But anyway... show this comment to your wife and ask her what she thinks and you won't do shit like this anymore. Be safe.

 @jeanbon9873 The only safety thing You/Anyone can ever say about me falling timber, is that I dont wear chaps. I wont argue that one. Wear your chaps. I wore chaps for the first 5 years, and i havent put them on in a long long time now. I dont like the extra weight, bulk. You will also notice I never have an ax hanging on me, a wedge pouch, tape. Nothing like these other loggers. I carry 1 saw, 1 axe, and 1 wedge in my hands, and that is it when I am logging. I keep Nothing hanging off my body. I keep a roll of electrical tape in 1 pocket - and I keep a SPOT locator in the other pocket. I like to be very simple, no extra gear or weight so I can move. I am considering some of these new chainsaw pants, I might try a pair. There is not 1 single second in this video where I am in any danger. This was a very normal easy day for me.

Stop making excuses, sometimes we just mess up and it's better to own up to it and fix it rather than deny it and talk nonsense. Right now, you're just coming across as a fool with more pride than years left to live if you keep this up.
@secondgrowthhomes
@secondgrowthhomes 8 күн бұрын
@@jeanbon9873 What safety issues would you say I need to fix? 1. My chainsaw bar is to big? Most of these trees are 30" diameter, I use the 36" bar most of the time. It is my main falling saw. I love it. 2. No Chaps - Yes - I dont wear chaps. Safety logging - is a big thing for me. It is also something I take great pride in. I have never once, hurt myself in the woods. Never even a twisted ankle. I do this all summer, every single year. 17 Years. My only chainsaw cuts, have been from slipping while sharpening my saw. I LIKE constructive criticism, from older fallers, or younger fallers with new knowledge. But, This second growth timber is so easy to fall, that I dont think there is ton left to learn about it. It is very repetive, each tree is the same. The trees dont even lean, they are just realy easy, lightweight trees to cut. What is your constructive criticism? I should use a smaller chainsaw? No. I should wear chaps? Yes. I wont argue that. I wore them my first 5 years - Not for the last decade. I would rather be able to move and run. I am considering trying some new chainsaw pants. I like criticism, and I like being safe logging.

I believe it would hold a lot better with the screws in the valley, the same as you would do with a tin roof with screws! I like the way you did your roof! I've put down a lot of tin roofs, but never a poly one.
@secondgrowthhomes
@secondgrowthhomes 12 күн бұрын
Roger Roger That is how we do it. Screw it down in the valley's, where the plastic is tight on the wood. Just like with Delta Rib Metal Roofing - And trust the Neoprene washer screws, just like with the Delta Rib. The only issues I have with the plastic roofing is when we used the wood "wiggle Molding" - the molding isnt perfect, so the plastic gets held up off the roof deck, and the screws washers dont set flat and hard. I asked a guy about it, and this is what he said they do commercially with this product. And I believe it. And I have since done it this way with no issues.

Thanks for sharing your install! Takes a lot of effort to document and share, so I appreciate it! As I've just done an install (DIY) some notes for anyone else installing Palram SunTuff polycarbonate sheets: - Minimum slope is 1.5" over 12" - Purlin spacing can be from 16" up to 36" depending on required load support. Always use sheet of plywood across at least 3 support members when traversing the roof. - Use appropriate flashing (side ridge, wall connector, counter, etc) at connection points - Use, at least, horizontal closure strips to allow for screwing roof sheets at the crown of ribs (ridges/hills) rather than in the valleys which can leak - Screws should be placed along purlins at the crown of every other rib (and at every rib if in high wind area) - Always make sure to pre-drill all screw holes using 1/4" bit. This hole is actually wider than shaft of screws and intentionally allows for sheet expansion/contraction. - Place EPDM screws (e.g. WoodTite) using a screw gun (e.g. like for drywall) or a drill with low clutch setting. Do not use an impact driver! Screw and its washer should be snug, not compressed at all. - For additional water tightness, only specific sealant (polycarbonate compatible) may be used along connection points of sheets. Manufacturer recommends only 100% silicon sealants as other sealants/adhesives often contain a solvent that may damage the polycarbonate sheets. For white roofs, I have used Henry's 884 Tropi-Cool white 100% silicon roof sealant caulk, but for my project with clear sheets, I'm using GE Supreme Silicone Caulk Window and Door Sealant Clear (model: 2814816) Ref: images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/0f/0f8191b5-f9ec-4080-bc12-84dc04df3bbd.pdf

It is a newer model rifle. Savage changed the 22/410 to the selector on the hammer. They changed it because this model was a bit weak. Mine actually broke, and I was able to eventually rebuild it.
