Very true. When I was reading the Bible I noticed only one person was described as eternal, not 3 cause that would mean 3 gods instead of the one eternal only immortal God.

He ... didn't offer a response to a single Unitarian position? He even admitted that he doesn't know why the word Biblical is put in front ... did he really think he could merely insult us out of existence?

John 5:17-18 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” Therefore 👉🏾the Jews sought all the more to kill Him👈🏾👉🏾, because 👈🏾He not only broke the Sabbath, 👉🏾but also said that God was His Father👈🏾👉🏾, making Himself equal with God👈🏾 The Jews understood exactly what Jesus meant when He said He was The Son of God

The "snap" imagery is a bit misleading. There's a whole ton of emotion leading up to the moment you snap into a cult mindset, and a lot of personal conflict before you "snap out of it." Then there's the recovery. However long you were involved in the cult, it takes at least twice that long to recover your thinking from the indoctrination, and it's never complete. You will never be the same person you were before the cult, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Just don't go looking for the same kind of experience elsewhere - once the illusion is broken, it will always be a hollow shell.

How does James D G Dunn's statement combine with trinitarian theology? Isn't what he says by itself a denial of Christ being God?
@christskingdomiscoming5964Ай бұрын
Monogenes; being God's only Generated son, has a clear and straightforward meaning. Trinitarians claim it means Momo=unique and Genes=taxonomic classification. It seems this meaning was invented by Trinitarians precisely to get round this conundrum. God and Christ's sacrifice of love for humanity, doesn't quite have the same impact if God gave his uniquely classified son rather than his only begotten son.

If we are only honest and truthful in our reading of our Bible, Jesus is only the Son of God and the Christ of God, not God,. LUKE 1:35; MATTHEW 16:15,16; JOHN 20:31; 1JOHN 5:1,5; ACTS 9:20,22; ACTS 17:3; ACTS 18:5,28; JOHN 11:27; JOHN 10:36; JOHN 17:3; 1 CORINTHIANS 8:5,6; 1 TIMOTHY 2:5. . All Bible characters only IDENTIFIED Jesus as the SON OF GOD and the CHRIST OF GOD, NOBODY PROMOTED JESUS AS GOD. JOHN 13:13. . Only those who read what is written by these people insist that Jesus is God, but the writer themselves DO NOT understood it the way the READERS understood what they wrote.

But isn’t the Church called Israel in scripture? James 1: 1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God Romans 9: Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Both references are defined, I..e, James 1:1 adds “in the diaspora.” Biblical and historically we know that refers to ethnic Jews only. And Paul adds “of God” in Gal 6:16 in distinction to “Israel of the flesh” elsewhere.

Calvin murdered Servetus. Those who make excuses for him are his co-conspirators and demonstrate the truth that if it were in their power, they would do the same to Unitarians today.

When Ham sees Noahs nakedness is that implying that Ham had sexual relations with Noahs wife? I say this after reading Leviticus 18. And how did Noah know his grandsons name? Does this mean Canaan was already born? Love your work many blessings and much love.
@FocusontheKingdomАй бұрын
There is no indication, however, that perverse sexual behavior was involved in addition to Ham seeing his father drunk and naked. Though the text does not explicitly state what happened, it is clear that Ham humiliated and dishonored his father and that he apparently sought to make his brothers a party to that humiliation. Instead, Ham’s brothers make every effort to avoid seeing Noah’s naked body, as readers are told twice that they approached him backward (v. 23). ESV Study Bible Some relate Gen 9:22 to Lev 18:6-11, 15-19, where the expression “uncover [another’s] nakedness” (the Piel form of גָּלָה, galah) refers euphemistically to sexual intercourse. However, Gen 9:22 does not say Ham “uncovered” the nakedness of his father. According to the text, Noah uncovered himself; Ham merely saw his father naked. The point of the text is that Ham had no respect for his father. Rather than covering his father up, he told his brothers. Noah then gave an oracle that Ham’s descendants, who would be characterized by the same moral abandonment, would be cursed. Leviticus 18 describes that greater evil of the Canaanites (see vv. 24-28). [And] twice previously it has been mentioned that Ham is the father of Canaan (vv. 18, 22), meaning he was already born.

Like Carlos I too find it very difficult to understand the concept on the trinity. However the main question in this debate is if the son preexisted before being born as a human. Carlos used the words that Jesus spoke in John 17:3 "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ" to show that even Jesus spoke of God as a separate entity to himself. However the answer to the question of preexistence is answered by Jesus himself just 2 verses down in verse 5 which says " So now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was". Those words to me says that he did have a preexistence in heaven with God before being sent to earth to give his life as a propitiatory sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

@Focus on the Kingdom The "Me" that's speaking in verse 16 is Isaiah. If you start reading chapter 47 and read to verse 17 of chapter 48 you will see that it is Isaiah speaking. Isaiah, in verses 3-5 of chapter 48, tells us that it was he, who declared the things to the people from the beginning. In addition, Proof that this isn't God the Son speaking in verse 16 is verse 17 when Isaiah lets us know when the LORD thy GOD speaks, "Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Also, noticed in verse 16 how the spelling of Lord is spelled with lowercase letters (meaning the spirit produced Son and his spirit sent Isaiah} but in verse 17 the LORD is thy GOD is spelled in all uppercase letters ( meaning God the Father). Listen to what Isaiah says in Isaiah 48:1, "Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. Now if the me, is the God the Son, then God the Son is swearing by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness. Tell me, will God the Son swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness? God forbid it to be so.
