How does James D G Dunn's statement combine with trinitarian theology? Isn't what he says by itself a denial of Christ being God?

Monogenes; being God's only Generated son, has a clear and straightforward meaning. Trinitarians claim it means Momo=unique and Genes=taxonomic classification. It seems this meaning was invented by Trinitarians precisely to get round this conundrum. God and Christ's sacrifice of love for humanity, doesn't quite have the same impact if God gave his uniquely classified son rather than his only begotten son.
