Some historical background that I find interesting. Tsuchimikado Yasuhiro and Takatoshi are both basically footnotes in history (they didn't even have their own Japanese Wikipedia pages until almost a month after this game came out). From what I gathered, neither of them ever was the head of their clan. Their father Yasushige outlived them both, and it was Yasutomi, who became the next head of Tsuchimikado family. Yasutomi is generally considered to be Yasuhiro's son, but his recorded birthyear is after Yasuhiro's recorded death year, so his parentage is disputed. Sometimes he is said to be Takatoshi's or Yasushige's son. He's known as founder of Tsuchimikado Shinto, a blend of shinto and onmyoudou. In F/SR, it seems that their father Yasushige has died earlier. At least, that's the vibe I'm getting. 17:48 and 19:00 Yasushige lost his position as Director of Bureau of Onmyou to Koutokui Tomokage. Both Tsuchimikado and Koutokui families were descended from prominent Heian-era families of onmyouji, Abe and Kamo respectively, so they had a bit of a rivalry going. In 1670, Tsuchimikado Yasutomi started challenging (as far as I understood, in a legal manner) Koutokui... 友傳 (I don't know how to read this name, the site I'm consulting calls him Tomohiro and Tomosuke on different pages) to reclaim the title of Director of Bureau of Onmyou for Tsuchimikado family. In 1682, 友傳 suddenly died, and his son was still an infant, so Yasutomi managed to get the position. He regained a solid amount of influence and prestige for his family, but Koutokui family managed to retain their relationship with specific shrines and associated rituals. Tsuchimikado family never managed to reach its former heights. 12:48 Regarding the cover-ups, I love how Fate/Zero light novel describes it. After the incident with a giant monster was resolved, there were damage repairs, there was false narrative about toxic fumes from industrial waste spill causing hallucinations, there was alteration of witnesses' memories... and then there was the purchase of two F-15 planes from Middle Eastern weapons merchants to replace the two F-15s that JSDF lost in the incident. It's not exactly the same model, but with a fresh coat of paint it works as a temporary replacement. As for more modern settings, Fate/Strange Fake (set in ~2009) discusses how much harder it is to cover stuff-up with the internet around... but also the events of that story are so ridiculously large-scale, compared to standard Fate fare, that the cover stories have to be borderline absurd. There are technically settings more in the future, but Fate/Requiem is a post-apocalypse where everyone is a pseudo-mage, so Concealment of Mystery loses it's point, with a different system taking over. And then there's also Extraverse, where magecraft faded because of global mana depletion, also making Concealment of Mystery pointless.

coolguy i hope you appriciate the effort i put in. my first run of tw-wh3 i picked demons of chaos because i needed it to do this. and after hours of play ive been able to claim every part of the donut and ofc i had to mark them for Slaanesh, every settlement of the donut and elves stronghold i find/take is dedicated to Slaanesh

you were talking about it pre-update during your run as changeling. sword and crown combo. ngl it works great on changeling, i wasnt able to get both maxed out at the same time as while grinding out the sword timer to get it upgraded i did eventually run out of turns on the crown. i did some early things like setup a 4 location provice for buildings and getting troops wiping out the nurge faction in empire and once i was notified about the crown i hunted it down. finally got it and on my way to the donut of elves i took my time to whack bretonians to reset the countdown on crown. as i got to the donut the sword carrier was in the provice next to me so i nabbed the settlement healed up and then took the sword. then spent a good 20+ turns settling cults around the donut as best i could before i lost the crown. (had sword on tier 2 at the time. made for a nice and silly combo but 3 turn timer on crown when max makes for rough to keep it if one are trying to one stack hunt the schemes. atm on a run where i try to do as many as i can. 3-4 are locked off due to factions dying out etc. but my long term goal is to either have a ally who will own all the bases and i have cult in all of them. or i will burn the world to ash and have parasite cult in every spot. (for that reason i ofc dont play with end game crisis on.)

It was extremely satisfying beating boss’s face in when I first did this battle. It’s an entertaining tidbit but kid boss and post quest for immortality find mid twenties boss too much of an asshole even for them.

2:59 Since those Digressions are NG+ only, if you do the Snake route first, then Assassin's name is first revealed to you in the main story with proper fanfare, rather than casually in those Digressions. But I agree, that otherwise it's comes across as odd.

also ngl a dedicated co-op run where one is changeling and the other is any other non chaos as such so holding towns etc. where they stay at war indef time but never "fight". they take a town, changeling player hit it right after while forces are low to set up a cult. full non "parasite" run just cults boost income for both players and break the game economy that way. until everything is owned by player one and changeling has a cult in every town. as a large scale long term goal. or as a solo run long term goal just have cult in every possible spot. a semi eternity goal that will get broken and reset over and over as game get more dlc's and updates. :P

wood elfs might not be made out of wood but a solid axe works great still :P

I have seen many players, lets plays, walkthroughs, playthroughs etc have the issue with the whirlwind tanks at the start of the mission time and time again saying they are bugged and don't work. Im here to tell you that they are not bugged etc. You see there is a button below the attack move move button called the stance button. On most units like the assault marines in is a yellow man with a gun(Hold Ground stance) however with the whirlwind tanks its a green hand(cease fire stance) which means the unit will not fire unless in melee combat. To fix this just click on the Green hand until you get either the yellow man or any other stance expect for the green hand. The game really doesn't teach you this but honestly i found this out when i was 12 so it shocks me when players who say they have played this game to death for many many years still struggle with this

A favorite bit of mine, after one of cu chulainn’s major battles he had to be restrained and dunked in multiple barrels of water to get him to chill out as he was berserking. The first couple of barrels exploded from the water turning to steam. Given saber’s hair, I imagine they have a decent amount of experience with caring for it.

It was predictable that Rider had not been controlled, unlike all controlled Servants he could speak completely normally. His identity is the biggest mystery for now, could it be Oda Nobunaga? He named himself a demon king and would undoubtedly be very powerful, especially in Japan. I don't think so, but it's a possibility. Normal people don't notice Aria's animalistic features, but don't they see the katana she has hanging from her back? All in all, Aria's resolution is decent, nothing terrible. The only downside is that the game doesn't let you pet Aria's giant fox mount.

Saber already eats enough for four as is. Aria send off by singing about getting high, but half the lyrics are missed as she is in fact high. Chiemon despite not having assassin managed to be the only one to assassinate another master so far. He’s so far proven the best at getting the drop on someone. A thing I liked about them blaming the fires in the very beginning as arson caused by a terrorist, which describes Chiemon as a survivor of shimabara rather well.

The way Deadpool keeps spouting non-sequitor one-liners is just a bit too Gex for me. They really needed a ton more of them, and try to match them with what's happening on screen.

I expected that they wouldn't let you choose, so it's a pleasant surprise to see that, in fact, they let you choose the route. I guess this determines which ending you get. I doubt that Rider was controlled because unlike the rest of the Servants he could speak normally and without any difficulty.

Samson has the typical bittersweet ending that many Servants encounter, but he may have found what he was looking for in the ending. Assassin on the other hand has become a cartoon villain, all evil laughter and subtlety thrown to the wind.

Wiedly I really enjoyed this game and the humour... dont wanna be that person Robo... but maybe an age difference? (Im 25)

I nearly bought this game back when it first came out. I had it in my hands and was on the verge of going to the counter to get rung up, when I saw Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which I hadn't heard of despite being big on the Metal Gear series. In the end, I chose Metal Gear Rising, and with the delisting it happened to work out that I ended up never playing this. I've been a bit curious about it ever since.

As for the writer who did this run of the comic, I think I know why you (and I) didn't like it - the meta humour is only good in moderation, as a way of playing with comic book conventions and cliches rather than being the core of the jokes. It's funny when he talks about Xavier and his naivety... but this isn't that.
