LOL. If it's on the internet it has to be true right? Ha. This is not even AI it is just me in Affinity (photoshop) with a color slider! Jerry always exaggerated specs about Vector so I thought this was perfect for what he would be saying today - besides his WX8 having 4000 hp and going over 300mph. Just like Jerry's dream of a HUD we may have nanite paint, borrilium spheres and unobtainium some day....... BTW my feature length Vector documentary will be done this week and hopefully out for streaming soon! Thanks Bud.

Pretty cool finding the original bodywork! One of the coolest historical cars in the Lingenfelter Collection was restored with the original engine and original bodywork (first v8 corvette "Duntov Mule") - but the chassis was lost to time. It may have been destroyed, or restored to 'proper' 54 blue-flame 6 somewhere along the line... Thankfully the body survived, and the original engine and logbook survived at Smokey Yunich's shop. Just to say - a faithful restoration can exist in many forms.

You mean the race car that was turned into a road car and only 4 were built? Did you forget about the Daytona Charger or the Plymouth Superbird that also went 200 mph? The definition of "Supercar" is not just about speed. Superman was not just "faster than a speeding bullet"

Looking forward to this documentary ! The Vector deserves more credit and recognition, it was in many ways a visionary pioneering work, and arguably even the first HyperCar even, as the contemporary supercars all had considerably less power, lower top speeds, and did not feature anywhere near the level of highly advanced tech on board as well as exotic space age grade materials in their construction. Superb American pioneering work indeed ! May Mr. Jerry Weigert rest in peace, his vision and creation endures and continues to inspire and fascinate.

It gets better gas mileage than my big block 68 Vette so I use it for parts runs and long distance drives. Been from San Diego to Oregon and up the coast for my "James Dean's Last Drive" quite a few times (check out the videos on my channel). I have also been from San Diego to Dallas and back. No problems and comfortable drive with the leather seats and all the comforts. I need to change 1 of my 4 O2 sensors. The dash lights bother me but it runs fine and I think I have more power! LOL I figure 2 or 300k miles should be doable. Try replacing your air filter with a K and N air filter. It will cost around $50 maybe but you will get better performance and maybe a hair more mpg. @SanDiegoHotRod
@SanDiegoHotRod 2 жыл бұрын
It could be dirty buttons or a bad fuse. The first thing I would do is disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then re connect it. The next thing I would try is checking all the fuses inside the car and inside the engine compartment. I would also try spraying compressed air in and around the remote control buttons. Use the canned air like the ones to clean out your computer or keyboard. Then press each button rapidly 10 times in case there is a bad connection inside the remote. Good luck.

@@celizabethteal1444 I got my Avalon from my aunt when she passed away 6 years ago in AZ. I did have to replace my rear speaker. The paper or glue dried out and it started making noise. It took me a while to find a decent replacement speaker but I ended up buying this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013C9ZAK/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1 The Pyramid WX85X speaker has a plastic cone which helps in the heat and sunlight. I had to cut the factory connector but was not a big deal to swap the speaker. I put it in 5 years ago and it still works great. For $50 I would rather replace this whole speaker in 30 minutes with a new speaker than spend $15 for a "repair kit" they sell online. The buttons for the left and right heated seats are on the dash just under the radio controls. They look like a seat with wavy lines underneath. You can also set the radio to show song info on the radio and so on. I just learned that a month ago after 6 years! LOL Try to get a factory manual for the car if you can. there are tips and tricks in the manual that will help maximize the fun and options the car has. I have been building cars for 30 years and I tell all my clients it is easier to "keep it up" than "fix it up." You still have lots of miles left on your car if you take care of it. Especially with city driving you can change your oil every 5000 miles. It makes it easy to remember when to change your oil - 150,000 - 55,000, 60,000 and so on. Another option that may cost a few $$ but it worth it is to replace the air filter with a cotton K&N air filter. www.summitracing.com/parts/knn-33-2145-1/make/toyota/model/avalon/year/2004 For $55 you get a better air filter, a couple more hp, a couple more mpg and you never have to change it! The difference is not whether it is electric that determines whether it's a motor or an engine. the technical difference is that an ENGINE runs under it's own power, and a MOTOR requires a source of outside energy to run. An ENGINE can run a MOTOR (example: GENERATORS), but a MOTOR cannot run an ENGINE without some sort of external power source to run the MOTOR in the first place. Simple, right? 😉
@SanDiegoHotRod
@SanDiegoHotRod 7 жыл бұрын
I can see both sides of the argument. The human body is like a train engine - diesel/electric. Diesel engine running and electric motor. The human body takes in external fuel which is burned and turned into energy at the same time electrical impulses control our "motor functions." LOL Also an engine needs fuel and motors need external power from electricity or other means like a hydro electric motor. Unless you have a perpetual motion machine..... motor.....engine? The world may never know! Ha.

never was a James dean fan like many. If they did make a movie of his life Brad Pitt could play this role. They both have the same eyes. Brad is a bit older than 24 now of course

Good video. But the crash happened with a speed of 60 mph and not 150. Regards from germany.

Thanks. Actually Dean just passed a couple in a car in excess of 85 mph just seconds before the crash. Turnupseed also just passed someone who was driving highway speed (around 60mph) just before the crash. Dean also just went from Blackwell's Corner to Cholame (30 miles in 15 minutes = 120 mph) and was heading downhill on a long straight road. Check out my newer video that explains it better. If you get the chance come to California this summer and join us on "James Dean's Last Drive." www.jamesdeanslastdrive.com

550 Spyder Impact speed much lower, according to crash analysis . The lower riding Spyder makes impacts more fatal vrs heavier higher riding Ford.

Of course the Spyder is going to lose in a head on crash (or even opposing sideswipe) but If you know anything about aluminum VS steel you know that you cannot crush the front steel fenders, frame, cross member and rims with an aluminum car that weighs half as much unless it is traveling at incredible speed. Try to smash a large steel coffee can with a small aluminum soda can.
