In case you failed to notice, he did NOT create Tom and Jerry or Popeye. He only did his own iterations of those cartoons. He did however create Tom Terrific, Nudnik, Sidney The Elephant, Clint Clobber, Gaston Le Crayon, and even co-created Samson Scrap (but apparently the dumbass whom posted this so called "tribute" video refuses to acknowledge any of that)

I wouldn't say he made it worse. Thing you gotta understand is animation is a costly process and Gene was only given so much cash to work on the shorts which may have not been much but he worked with the budget he got and that's all that matters in the grand scheme of things. If there was any worse version of Tom and Jerry, I would say that honour (or dishonour) goes to Filmation (a company that recycled more animation than Hanna-Barbera and 70s era Disney combined. And that's say a lot!). They butchered Tom and Jerry much worse than the modern studios that make all those Tom and Jerry movie tie-ins (like Tom and Jerry Meet Willy Wonka or The Wizard of Oz or that sorta thing) Just be glad Cambria Studios (they did those cheap shitty cartoons that were just hand drawn images with live action lips like Clutch Cargo) didn't handle Tom and Jerry. We all know how that would have turned out...

If you're going to give Gene credit for any ORIGINAL material that HE CREATED, look up ANY of the following: Tom Terrific Gaston Le Crayon Clint Clobber John Doormat Sidney The Elephant Foofle (or even Nudnik) But understand, Gene did NOT create Tom and Jerry. He directed 13 shorts of it, but he did not create it!

Gene Deitch did not create Tom and Jerry. That was William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Gene did however create Tom Terrific, Sidney The Elephant, John Doormat, Gaston Le Crayon, Clint Clobber, Samson Scrap and Nudnik (but apparently the dumbass who posted this video doesn't like being told that fact like the uneducated moron they choose to be)
