Great video, Thanks for this. I do have a question about the water pipe to impeller housing seal; 2008 f200, there are 2 parts diagrams for lower unit. 1 shows a rubber sleeve that goes in the housing outlet (damper seal 1) and then the plastic guide with the side pins. (Parts #22 and 23 on diagram 1) Diagram 2 shows parts # 1 and 2. another rubber sleeve(seal)#1 and an additional rubber tube with a wider too and bottom ( like a sewing spool with a hole through the center. #2 But my engine only has the rubber sleeve and plastic with 2 side pins. Item on lower unit diagram 2 part #6E5-44366-01-00 #2 on diagram is completely missing on my engine and on every impeller video ive watched on youtube. ???? Was this an ungraded superceded part over the years? Or are people just leaving out part 6E5-44366-01-00 for some other reason?

I have a Seastar H50 Hynautic helm with 5/16" hoses. Upper and Lower helm. What fittings are needed to connect to the Smartpump V2. Liked watching the install. What have you heard bad about the shadow drive?

Shame that wasn't the port control. My dual trim switch is not working for the up or down, I forget, on the port motor. Switch is fine but I can hear a relay clicking in there somewhere. And I have no idea what is the electrical intricates for it are. As I'm typing this, maybe a diode is bad, I can check that next.

At 12:50 you mention hooking the pump up to the fuse block with a 40 amp fuse. I’m pretty sure the Blue Sea fuse blocks are rated for 30 amp per circuit. Isn’t that going to be an issue?

I have water coming out of the exhaust at idle. Any idea which component could cause this? I have a 2019 Yamaha F150TXR
@goddard244Ай бұрын
Any update on that exhaust kit that you mention having to order and install? I ask because I may have the same issue with my engines and can get little info on the issue. I'd like to check to see if the previous owner installed the kit and if not if it is needed and this is the first video that I've found that even mentions the problem much less shows a symptom of it. Thanks for the video.

You might want to put together a preventive maintenance schedule boats need heavy maintenance on a regular basis not just when things go bad

One thing you didn’t mention, I see my maintenance kit came with 2 gear lube bottles. I have no idea how to transfer from one to the other without losing oil

My tilt ram lifts fine but does not have the pull down strength that it had before changing seals and O rings. Thus the motor comes out of the water when reversing. I have taken it apart 3 times and nothing is missing or installed wrong. Driving me crazy!

Great Series and explanation. Subscribed! I think those Springs are now the weak point, I would’ve replaced them while doing that job, as well as knocked the rust off the backing plates treated them with Cold Galvanizing Compound. That Saltwater will eat them up if left untreated in 2 years..

That c-clip fell out from under the piece of tape that you see in the binacle. Yamaha always puts a tapes a spare clip for those mechanics that lose them.

Mine had had a pin hole from corrosion in the block above the thermostat, under the fly wheel. Seems to be a common problem with these. You should have pulled the zincs in the heads by the spark plugs while you had the thermostats out and flushed it with salt remover. Those zincs have probably never been replaced.

Great video since I’m buying a magic tilt with new axles and no brakes……but you should pack the bearings with a wad of grease in your palm, or a bearing packer. Also the bearing nut should be loose when you take the cotter pin out. Spin the hub while tightening until it has no end play, then back off a 1/4 turn and install cotter pin.
