Nope, solder it. Do it right first time. Also dont buy those expensive connectors, use copper tubing. Smash 1 end and drill hole. Your all welcome.

При заточке мелких свёрл важно задую кромку опустить. Иначе свиду вроде острое а не сверлит.

Thanks for posting your shop vac auto switch solution. I just finished building it, with a few modifications, and it works very well. I used a 20A SSR instead of a mechanical relay, and had to swap the HIGH for LOW and the LOW for HIGH arguments in your code. The other modification was to add a bypass switch so I could easily turn on the shop vac without moving its' power cable to another outlet. I do have to make a final housing for it, but that is a minor issue. Thanks again !!

Look up the Burndy Patriot 750 T3. Now that is crimping.

Indent crimpers are not the best way to go. They work fine for a DIY job though.

This is a really great design. Geometrically it's not complex, but it does it's job in creating complex geometry. Why isn't this a product that I can just buy? 😅

Great simple solution. Just what I was looking for. It's really annoying having to turn on-off x2 every time I use my router table. Greetings from Paraguay.

It would be interesting to do both electrical tests and pull tests on these crimps. I suspect the indent crimps are solid and probably fine for most uses, but I believe they make a weaker connection as they bend and displace the conductors more than a hex crimper. And I find a proper hex crimp to look much more professional. To me an indent crimp just screams amateur. If you look at almost any commercially crimped connector, the crimp is almost always hexagonal or circular. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an automated machine crimp that was of the indent style. I may be wrong, but I suspect a good hex crimp will run cooler under high current and will withstand more mechanical stress.

if the section is circular the calculation at 5 meters gives me: 1.5e5*.1^2*3.1415/4=1178 N or about 117 kg. It is not a force that the legs are not able to apply. I weigh about 100 kg and I am able to carry several tens of kg, so I think that the legs can apply this force without difficulty. Let's say that 5 meters seems to be the operating limit. Which is not very little: it is comparable to the operating limit of an oxygen rebreather.

I just put a 24lb trolling motor on a quick release pole that attaches to my bow rail , it has plenty of thrust , to save on messing about with the electronics i ordered a 60amp pwm with foward and reverse plus proportional controll for the motor speed so i can controll it from the helm , not as fancy as a remote controller but i feel like it will be a good solution for me , thanks for the idea as it gave me insperation once i saw how easy it was to impliment . for a 40 foot sailboat 24lb seems enough to push the bow around for docking manuvers on a still day :)
