I love this build so much and using it as an inspiration for my long term 450A Brat look….. can I buy a set of those 3 inch tall custom handle bars…. They look great! Is your Jc custom website the best way to contact offline? Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! I am not sure I have parts to make another set, unfortunately. I would have to look. Basically, I just cut up a couple other sets I had lying around. And yeah, my website is probably the best way as it should go straight to my email.

I just like to reply in case people actually read these and don't get confused. Here's another example for you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/opW2hqeboMx3i9U

Very nice work. I just bought a 80 CM400T, I'm going to Bob mine, I havent decided If I'm going to Hard tail it or not, I probally wont, I'll probally just get some 2016-2019 Suzuki Boulevard shocks, the Honda stock shocks are 13" tall and the Boulevard shocks are 10 3/4" tall, that will give me a 2 1/4" drop in the back. I wanna go low but not too low.

I just bought a 1980 CM 400T for $550 last Thursday, they guy I bought it from said it needed alot of work, Once I got it home I took the battery out and threw it on my Battery tender for the weekend, contrary to popular belief most "old dead batteries" can be recharged and will last you another couple years, I work for Indian Motorcycles we do it ALL the time when pick up an auction bike, and then took the carbs off and cleaned them real well and put them back in and then got some new spark plugs. Last night (Monday) when I got home I went out to the garage and threw the battery in in and a gallon of fresh gas in the tanks, took me a couple cranks but she fired up and I took around the block a couple times. I'm going to Bob mine on the cheap, I've got a factory solo seat off a Honda Rebel that's I'm going to dye Saddle Brown and stick on it. I'm going to paint the frame brown and the tins White and put a Orange, Yellow and Brown pinstripe on the tank and the Fenders and paint the mag wheels a burnt Copper color and make it a retro period correct late 70's early 80's custom bike.

Thanks! I am 6'3" and the height was never an issue. Granted, I did move the seat back a little when I was building it. That said, the bobber style bike is never really going to be great for long rides due to the seat. This one has more cushioning than most, but after an hour, it's still a bit rough.

I am also 6'3, so yes, you will fit just fine ha! The forward controls make it more comfortable than other cruisers IMO. My only complaint was there is a little lack of power with the 600 if you do a lot of highway riding. Cruises at 70 no problem, but much over that starts to over rev. It was awesome around town though.

That looks beautiful. Well done. What kind of tires are those? Also, are bobber bikes always a custom concept, or are there brands that make them from factory?
@jcurtiscustoms
@jcurtiscustoms 2 ай бұрын
Not sure on the tires. They were on it when I bought the original. There are some brands that make something close to a bobber. Triumph has their Bonneville Bobber, Harley's closest is probably a sportster, Indian Scout and so on. They aren't this style though.

@@fetograf11 I personally built the bike myself, so I know what I started with. That said, doing some research, I found that a VLX600 is called both a steed AND a shadow depending on the market it was released in. So, I guess we are both correct haha. Here is the build page where you can see that it is in fact a shadow deluxe to start. jc-custom.com/2021/01/20/shadow-bobber-project-start/ Thanks for the engagement!

Great tutorials! I've seen many cosplayers who use seran wrap and then duct tape to wrap their subject. They then draw the pattern they want directly on the duct tape and can easily cut it out for their custom pattern. I wonder if that would work here instead of all the tracing paper.
