I’ve had the original concept LP since it came out, 40+ years ago. Some wonderful songs. My late brother, Chris, loved it too. He worked with Maggie in Panto. Thanks for posting.

One of my favorites of Lynn's. I watch the Starsky and Hutch episode that this is in a lot. I was 13 when it came out. My mom had just gotten the album.❤

That fairground synth organ sound with reverb, the strong backing vocals, the workman drums, and a killer vocal on top. Another "written and produced by Alan Tarney" great! Unfortunately, this single doesn't seem to be on any Elkie Brooks album and you can't (?) buy a download or stream it 😢. Take my money, Ms. Brooks! (Update: it's on her UK greatest hits CD "Master Series"released by A&M.) Check out "Once in a While" by Leo Sayer (and Cliff Richards') version. ALAN TARNEY!

I've still got this on a 7'' single, at the time I just had to buy it, so haunting and so dramatic. His vocals and the amazing backing singers, this should have been a hit! Think it's so much better than Making Up Again.

This track is actually available on CD -tucked away on an A&M compliation of Elk`s hits called the Master Series (1997)-along with a few other singles "B" side gems that have rarely (if ever) featured on CD. It was deliberately recorded in mono by Alan Tarney I`ve read..and have never heard of a stereo version
@pA-vo7bo4 жыл бұрын
It is also available on her 2006 Very Best Of - available through Marks and Spencers!

This was a Coverversion of the Smokie-Hit from Album "Bright Lights & Back Alleys". Why? Racey was with Smokie on tour 1977 and so Racey has play a Racey-version of the Hit.
