I leave the wheel in the frame, spin it with the sprocket just touching a crayon held against fork. Where marks appear is where the wheel is off...Good job on this vid.

@@CR03_Outdoor_Adventures You are welcome. I saw the method here on KZbin. Tried and it worked way too well, lol. I disassembled the rag joint 2x to get it right.

Sorry if I missed it but who did you source the kit from? I’ve been nervous about sending money to one of the hundreds of vendors out there because of low feedback scores.

I do that when the bike can’t keep up with the speed of traffic. I feel safer that way because I can easily see the cars coming and get out of the way. I don’t think of these as mopeds. I think of them as pedal bikes with a little boost.

FYI, sprocket adapters are actually made for coaster brake hubs. They WILL slip on free wheels, I don't care who the mechanic is. Weld it, or Risk it!!! 🇺🇸

Nice budget build, that's a good 4 stroke because it has 7.5k rpms, 4 strokes are more reliable and the style build I'm doing is a 4 stroke 4 spd with semi auto and is ideal for me because I'm adding a 24 inch shifter and radiator and stuff

Not sure what you’re talking about there. That bike was only 49cc and wasn’t very fast at all. It’s not a motorcycle so I treat it like a regular bicycle. Despite the camera angle, I constantly look all around me and I look both ways before switching lanes. Riding into head on traffic is a lot safer when your bike can’t hit half of the speed that some people drive. Maybe it’s different in dense urban areas where people go 25mph, but haven’t you seen all of the people on the news who got hit from behind while in the shoulder? If they could’ve seen the driver who wasn’t paying attention they might have had a chance to go off the road.

what kind of cluch do you use?
@CR03_Outdoor_Adventures3 ай бұрын
It was some kind of heavy duty performance clutch off of eBay. I tried multiple different clutches and I adjusted many different things. I decided to sell the bike because I concluded that the steep hills around my area were probably causing the clutches to burn out. I never had any issues with the clutch in my old 2 stroke bike so I am currently building another one since I am at home now.

Amen.
@Markthesun215 ай бұрын
Ok hold up! There is something wrong. I think you are getting the wrong clutch for your transmission. There are two styles. Your idle is way high. Turn it down until it seems like it's going to die then turn up just enough that it runs. Your clutch is not engaging. It's to strong. It should be fully engaged buy 1000 rpms. These little motors work good. Go uphill no problem. Fix the clutch problem.

Wow, you need to learn how to safely ride in traffic and to obey all traffic laws.
@CR03_Outdoor_Adventures5 ай бұрын
That’s just how we’ve been riding bicycles around here since we were little kids. I wouldn’t ride like that on a street legal bike that can actually keep up with traffic. You can’t tell because the camera is mounted to my chest, but I constantly am looking around for cars before switching lanes. I like to ride on the shoulder into oncoming traffic on a bicycle so that I can see the cars and get off the road if I need to make room. Too many cyclists get hit from behind on the shoulder. There’s no need to worry about stop signs, red lights, or wrong way signs on a bicycle in my town. The local police have seen me plenty of times with motorized bikes and are cool with it.
@clarencerobinson49695 ай бұрын
I live in the mountains of Tennessee and weigh 250 lbs. Small engines, large people and steep hills means you need multiple engine driven gears. That's why I have a shifter bike. Oh, by the way I use a 4 stroke 33cc engine both the engine and the clutch is 14 years old. I'm also known as Sidewinder Jerry on the motorized bicycle forums.
@CR03_Outdoor_Adventures5 ай бұрын
Very interesting. I didn’t want to put a lot of money into the bike because I had an 80cc 2 stroke kit that did fine around here and cost even less. I ended up selling both bikes and will probably build another 2 stroke one in the future.
@LostWinters-_-5 ай бұрын
My 80cc 2 stroke bicycle is after than that thing especially it had a different needle that I put in and yes it does suck more fuel as ther no air filter for it just a custom cover so no water gets in the carb
@CR03_Outdoor_Adventures5 ай бұрын
I do like the 2 stroke ones better. I also had an 80cc 2 stroke for a couple of years before I sold it and made the 4 stroke. I think I may build another 2 stroke at some point.

Fill your tank with apple cyder vinegar let it sit for a week and flush it out will remove any rust I would flush it with two stoke oil to season it drain it and run straight gas in the tank the little bit of oil will burn off threw the engine and will not hurt the engine!

That's a nice looking bike but I wouldn't take that across my front lawn let alone the woods getting older brings a Stratton off of riding tractor or something put on that bike don't get a bicycle and you can get lights off Amazon the garbage if you got to do that get a two-stroke two stroke is a heck of a lot better

At 0:49 you see how freaking heavy those springs are/ its a wonder that clutch even opens up to work at all. All your doing is eating up disc pads with those heavy duty clutches. Heavy duty is ok but that clutch has to match the RPMs of the motor and that damn idle needs turned down to the proper RPM first. Its a nice bike just try a different setup on the clutch system.
@wmnapier5 ай бұрын
You have more speed than you think if that clutch was not continously splipping. Get the correct clutch and bigger sprocket on the rear. You probably have the bell part where the clutch pads ride burnt down as well. With the proper clutch you should just touch the gas and it will take off from a dead stop.
@wmnapier5 ай бұрын
That clutch is not the correct clutch for that 4 stroke. Your idle is way to high to start with, sounds like its at half throttle all the time. That clutch has got to go...... the springs are to strong for the 4 stroke RPMs that clutch is not even expanding to catch the surface on the bell part of the clutch. If that clutch was fully engaging you would be flying on the level straight aways. A bigger sprocket and a good clutch that expands easier at low RPMs would be a really great performance improovement.
