Crazy it definitely isn't a "auto fix" but you can tell, it's part of the issue. Mine still isn't working, but after doing this, I was able to get it to read a couple disks, just wouldn't completely work. Guess mine is too far gone or has multiple issues. I haven't used my disk reader in a long time, I remember it acting up a while back, but it would always eventually work, now it's just totally out of there.
