I'm pretty much a sailor in my childhood, using cracked video games, programs, media, etc in my life because they need money (I did buy the genuine product as I grew older but still waste of money :D). Among the things I used, cracked video games are the ones that make me feel guilty the most because I could feel the effort those devs made only to be beaten up by the pirates. Even when using piracy is beneficial eg preserving games, I see a moral border for video games.

You're absolutely right, and I would like to see more games with high player choice but no explicit morality system. Sure you could improve it by having more than 2 moral sides, but even better just throw it out. Just have specific consequences for specific actions, and let the player decide what THEY think is moral or immoral.

Years later this is honestly a really great perspective to remember when thinking about something like Hollow Knight: Silksong. Of course it's taking forever, the risk of fucking up something as awesome as Hollow Knight is insane!
