nice boat...but I like the competition better that does the opposite..puts the 2 twins in the aft with the master because more than likely kids will be the owners kids.. and the vip is solo... depends on kids ages but with kids sub teenagers i would want them in the same part of the boat

I wish it was easy to get a wider angle lens with my setup, but due to its age I'm backed into a corner. And I prefer a mirrorless DSLR over a GoPro, so it'd be rather expensive to buy a whole new rig and I just can't justify spending thousands to do so.

Every boat over 30' now has a grill, and no matter how many people the boat is designed to carry, none of the grills are big enough to cook for more than 2 people. This grill is one of the largest I've seen. You could probably cook 4 burgers or small steaks on that. I watched a tour last night of a boat bigger than this, with a grill half that size. Why bother? Another odd feature often seen is glassware and dishes. I use insulated tumblers and mugs for everything because they don't sweat and won't leave rings. I can't imagine having all of those glasses on a boat. The one place you don't want broken glass and what do they do? Racks of wine glasses and a grill the size of George Formans. 😅 Another oddity I've seen lately are non-gimbaled ranges without pot keeps. Are they hidden? Do they fold out? How do you cook a meal in even a mild sea state on one of those flat glass top ranges with no railings to keep your pans from sliding around? I see them on boats custom designed by supposedly, experienced sailors. I guess I'm behind the times and need to go to a boat show and ask around.

I do love that feature on the 82! They did such a good job with the layout on the 82. I can't guarantee we'll see it on the a future updated 95 (92?), but they did tell me there are plans to incorporate some features that are new to the 82 onto other models - such as the fold down sides on the aft of the 82 that will be added to the 62 in the future.

Crazy that you guys are getting these only so late, I checked it out almost a year ago at Düsseldorf Boat Show in Germany. Good size and looks, but only sleeps two (Yamarin and Finnmaster models sleep 3-4) and when the forward bench is folded down, the wet bar (which you seem to have completely missed) is at, well, testicles level. Unusable.

The same layout with the new N51, so what the difference?!
@TheBoatDude
@TheBoatDude 2 ай бұрын
I presume, you're comparing the N52 to the N51. The N51 has the master stateroom in the bow, compared to the N52 with it mid-ship. The N51 has bench seat on the deck on the bow, the N52 does not. Beyond the layout, there are some big functional differences such as the N51 being able to have a bridge clearance under 19'6" from the factory and thus able to do the Great Loop as it comes. The N52 would take rather extensive modification to be able to do it. The N51 has subtle, but rather user friendly and modern improvements to both the electronic and physical systems. Also, the speed and range performance figures are notably different on each boat.

Wasnt that just a sight tube on the fuel? Lookrd like red diesel in the tube. Not sure what you were describing?
@adamhose9632
@adamhose9632 2 ай бұрын
When you see the fuel filters it looks like standard road diesel and not off-road red dyed diesel, but when you see the fuel level sight gauge it's bright red. So I'm guessing that's what your question is, and while I could be wrong some visual fluid level gauges use a magnetic system to allow you to see the level of the fluid in a tank but what you're seeing on the actual gauge is not the actual fluid within the tank. And so they use a contrasting color fluid like red to give you a quick indication of what the level of the tank is. And I could be wrong but I also believe that in the event that the glass tube were to get broken that you're not actually losing the fluid within the tank, because they are completely separated unlike some sight level gauges.
@TheBoatDude
@TheBoatDude 2 ай бұрын
Adam was pretty close with his description. The red you were seeing was the side of the indicators marked to show where the fuel level is at. The red and white pieces are cylinders that turn magnetically. Here's a link to a similar, possibly even the same, system that explains it more in depth than I can in a single KZbin comment: www.gteek.com/Magnetic-Level-Gauge
@adamhose9632
@adamhose9632 2 ай бұрын
@@TheBoatDude thanks for clarifying. I've seen those types of sight glasses in other industrial applications but I've never been able to get up close to see exactly how the red shows up, even though I know inside the tank it's a different colored fluid. So thanks for explaining and showing the link.

@adamhose9632
@adamhose9632 2 ай бұрын
The beneteau is a beautiful boat but they're really not in the same category. The beneteau is more of a coastal swift trawler and the nordhavn is a transoceanic boat, so because of the size of the fuel tanks and other requirements to go across oceans the nordhavn doesn't have the internal space for more cabins.
@TheBoatDude
@TheBoatDude 2 ай бұрын
I actually filmed the Swift 48 when it debuted in Miami and the video is on the channel! Adam summed it up almost exactly as I would have. The Swift 48 blurs the lines between a pleasure vessel and a true trawler type boat, where as the N51 is all business.

I am just the messenger, the brokerage selling the boat sets the price. That said, Fleming has a rather niche market but they serve that clientele very well.
