My favorite player growing up! Loved Basketball back in the 70s & 80s, before it got ruined. Favorites back then: Dr. J Moses George "The Iceman" Gervin Bird Byron Scott Magic Jordan Dominique Wilkins Chamberlain Billy Ray Bates Worthy Drexler Then lost interest after Kobe, Shaq, Air Carter gen. Loved those guys too

When I decided to go to UConn in 1972, part of the reason was Dr J was at UMass and I would get to see him play. He went into the ABA that year!

I just noticed for the first time when Doc stole the ball, how all the fans stood up in waiting to erupt, with the hopes that something spectacular would happen. They all became a part of experiencing the greatest dunk of all time.

Further perspective on Cheryl’s 105-point game: they play 8-minute quarters in high school, and they didn’t have the 3-point line back then. I couldn’t have scored 105 points in 32 minutes if I were in the gym by myself.

Saul Miller didn't fuck around. I've done some work for the man in the past and he has since passed on ... High standard. High expectation. High performance, all the time. I've seen Reggie and Cheryl training tapes. Millions of practice shots and years of drills opened doors for his kids. RIP.

People forget that it wasn't always Doc, Bird and Magic. The Sixers used to have to go through the Bucks and Sidney Moncrief, Lanier, Dandridge and Marques Johnson and that bunch to get out of the East. Playoffs were Classics back then and not so many rounds and play-ins and replays and all the crap we see today.

Got to get up onstage at age 66 and dance with Parliment Funkadelic last Friday, in that video I am wearing my Dr. J t-shirt. Two legends. George Clinton and Julius Erving.

If Cheryl had been around for today’s NBA, I do wonder if she would’ve been able to compete with the guys. She was that good. For all the hype Caitlin Clark has received, Cheryl was on another level. So sad her career ended with a torn ACL, something that could’ve easily been fixed today.

Cooper is a class act. I bet he felt exactly the same way about it right after it happened. No shame in giving it your best against the very best and coming up short
