What a great help this is! I've been trying to find help with my 60w JPT MOPA laser and I'm struggling to find good stainless steel settings. Do you think the Lightburn library for this Aurora Lite galvo will work with my laser? Just want to make sure it's somewhat compatible before I download it into my Lightburn.
@LaserNUG
@LaserNUG 8 күн бұрын
Hey good day and thanks Kyle. I am not very technical so not sure but the Library is innocuous, so to speak. If you load it in and don't want it afterwards, you just delete it from Lightburn. Or perhaps just freeze my video at the spots I show the settings and then write them down so you can try them maybe(?). Good luck and hope they work or at least give you a good place to start. Cheers!

@@LaserNUG I tried your settings and after some adjustments, the results were good. I did some research and it seems the mopa laser settings would be a better choice for a jumping off point for me since it includes a Qpulse width setting. I'm also a novice, so lots of trial and error, but your video was lots of help and very informative! Thanks again!

Nice video. Why could you not do the outline engrave as a step in the original plan vs adding it after doing the 3 colors on the rose. Also any comments on why you chose the Aurora Lite over something like a Cloudray 60w MOPA (you can add a cover) I’m trying to decide between a Raycus or JpT source for same or less price vs the Thunder Hans source in this unit. I am a Thunder fan so you don’t need to sell me on that.

Good morning Cliff. Yes I could have, but I wanted to show the steps separately in addition to the multi-layer approach. The unit is here loaned to me for now, but my enquiry or interest in it was because I am 100% satisfied with my BOLT and have confidence in TL, and this particular unit offered performance at a much reduced price to the other Aurora models, notwithstanding a manual focus and few other things. Hope that helps - good luck with your decision.

I need something like this for engraving keys that are indiscriminately thrown into the machine 5 to 10 at a time. Even better would be one that can also automatically increase the number on each item. Does anyone know of such a system that is under 1000 dollars? This system shown is really cool but 7400 is too much for my needs. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gord: have been watching all of your videos for my new Thunder Bolt Plus which is my first laser. They are fantastic. One question: your video on the PiBurn with the Bolt had a pretty good calculation of the Steps per Rotation. That number was 8020. In this video, the number you use is 8220. I did not think there would be a difference on a different machine. Can you explain how you got to using 8220 rather than 8020? Thanks
@LaserNUG

Hey Brian thanks so much. I rushed this video out and did not verify my number. You are correct - it is supposed to be 8020. Thanks so much - I will update the description of that Aurora LITE video accordingly. I really appreciate it. All the best!

So it looks like there is a formula between the diameter of the round logo and the diameter of the cylinder being engraved. 7% for big logos (closer to the diameter of the tumbler) looks good. The smaller the logo the smaller the stretch required if at all. Thanks for this 🙌 just a quick question - on a taper, is your focal height in the middle of the logo or at the biggest diameter of the object you’re engraving?
@LaserNUG
@LaserNUG 21 күн бұрын
Good morning - that's a good question - I focus around the middle of the design area ( not necessarily the biggest part of the design) but more to the middle of the height of where it will sit

Hi Gord. I am enjoying your videos on the Aurora Lite. You sure are learning a lot about it. I bit the bullet and ordered one. It’s supposed to be delivered next week. I have been making some Halloween lanterns on the Bolt-purchased some designs from Etsy. I’ve made seven of the same one and then I’ll make seven Christmas lanterns. Also hope to start doing some Christmas ornaments to give as gifts sometime in the near future. I’m looking forward to being able to craft some things for Christmas on the Aurora Lite as well. Thanks for the tip on that website. It’s nice to be able to purchase some designs rather than having to design them sometimes. I see someone asked about using the Piburn Grip on the Aurora Lite. I have a RotoBoss Talon chuck rotary I bought to use with the Bolt and am wondering if it will work with the Aurora Lite. Again, thanks and bless you. Looking forward to all of your future videos, Gord.

Good day Steve. So far I am 10 months in and no troubles at all. The wheels are holding up just fine - I have no issues - however It appears I may clean my machine more often than some ( from comments I receive). I alwaus clean the rails and wheels whenever I clean the mirrors/lens, cause I use alcohol wipes and it only takes a minute so I run the wipe along the rail runways and also wipe off the wheels. It's super quick nd i think its good to keep the runways clear and wheels clean from debris. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Good morning Josh. I am sorry I don't have a template - I just made it up previously and saved it. But if it is helpful, some suggestions: start by making a rectangle shape, size it at 2.9" x 1.9", phone number, email address, a short description of what he creates or sells, a logo, if he has a website then create a QR code ( it is free in Lightburn - don't pay for one from another website), add the website URL, etc. Sorry I could not help more but I think these days, your business card is not a standard template like we were taught back in school - it is whatever design he wishes. Good luck and all the best! If you have other questions, please let me know.
