Peggy: I was expecting Norm to pop in at any time. The Fall and Christmas merchandise is always exciting to look at. It’s hard to say no to certain things.However, at this stage of the game, I have so much, I have to use will power. Not easy when you see potential for accessories for the holidays. That pumpkin you bought is so cute. Don’t you just wonder about the story behind all these things? Just love when you go out and shop and then show us how you accessorize your home. So much fun! Hi Carol! Thanks so much for watching and sending your very fun take on things. Always great to hear from you. Yes, so many cute things. I have been really trying to be choosey since we don't have any more shelf space. I tend to add things to collections that I've already started if I think they are even better than some at home. I've been bagging up a lot of things that we donated last week. It's freed up some space actually. I also weaken to buy items just because they will help make a themed video more interesting. The prices are very good, we think, in our state. Very inexpensive when we go out of town an hour or so. I feel that I can invest a few dollars in a cute item for a themed kitchen, for example, and then probably donate it back again if I think one video is enough to show it and it's not a collectible type item. I have to frequently donate large items that I've shown 2-3 times in videos. I just don't have any time right now to be selling things on eBay and I would like to hang on to as much vintage as we can store because I'm decorating with it all for our videos. I often have had visions of us eventually putting many things in a nearby antique mall to see how well that may work for us. We know it can be expensive in a mall though since we live in a city that isn't close to any rural stores to be convenient for us. Well, that's a few of my thoughts for you on what may make me choosey much more now that when we started our channel 4 years ago. Thanks again for writing your fun messages, Carol. Thanks so much, Marggy! It's always so nice to hear from you! I'm glad you liked the JOL and the Christmas plate. The music they were playing there was very loud contemporary Christian singers. I don't care for all the Christian rock, or whatever they consider it. I'd love to hear old Christian hymns there, like they play at Hobby Lobby. I remember them from child and young adulthood. I was too close to their speakers in the back of the store at times. So I turned off all my audio to cover up their music and inserted the soft Christmas music. It works fine at times. I have too many Christmas decorations having inherited my mothers and then my grandmothers Christmas treasures but now the only thing I collect is MORE CHRISTMAS. Lol I especially love vintage christmas. Sorry to my kids who will have to take care of my Christmas hoard someday. 😊

That music was really bothering you. I went to Florida recently and some guy pulled into the gas station and proceeded to blast his music about being in a gang and the lyrics had four-letter words. The lady pumping gas next to me looked over at me and we rolled our eyes at each other at the same time and then started laughing. I really had to use the restroom but feared he might rob the place so moved on down the road hoping for an exit with a restroom. Found one just in time.😅. Really like that daisy and button dish! The Martha Stewart cups were really cute. You always find the cutest Corelle dishes and I rarely find them. Beautiful flowers (or should I say rabbit food)!

Japanese beetles are terrible! I knock them off plants into a cup of water and then feed them to the panfish that hang out under our dock. When the fish see my shadow they come racing out to get a meal!

Oh no Peggy! I kept saying this when you were looking at the Rubbermaid dish rack. I just put my black one which I had for three years into the recycling bin because I was having a hard time getting the hard water stains off of it. It is the exact same one. I think I bought it at Walmart. They are more expensive brand new, but they are new. So sorry to have to tell you this.

Thanks for the shop along Peggy. Cutting back on gardening is so bittersweet. I used to fight Japanese June bugs, they decimated my Holly hocks and dahlias., often eating the flower buds as they opened 😢.

I'm amazed at how much porcelain you are able to find. Here in OKC it is practically nonexistent or when I find a piece, exorbitantly priced. I'm traveling to Alabama soon and will be taking some time to antique. Perhaps I'll hit the jackpot there. Thanks to one of your videos, I feel in love with the white porcelain with gold accents and pink flowers!

Peg, I feel your pain about garden pests. This year it is thrips, spider mites, snails, and rabbits. I just gave up too. Did you end up purchasing the light amber daisy button plate? It is so pretty.

Hi Shirley! Thanks for sharing your pests and frustration, too.😒 I'm so sorry to hear that. It's just getting too expensive and probably dangerous to be using pest controls. We've had a very expensive year. I went out after making that video and sprayed the beetles with some very soapy water. I'm not sure if it made them leave or die. Yes, I did buy that pretty amber plate.☺️ Thanks for watching and writing tonight! 🤗

My husband and I have been having trouble with garden pests as well. We also are getting older and this year has been the worst for us physically working in the garden. So, we came to the conclusion of taking out most of our garden, especially our front garden, and what remains will be surrounded with bark. We finished it and we really love it! It's nice not to be lugging around heavy soil bags and tools. We will probably continue to lower the garden even more in the back for next year. So, I feel what you're going through. I'm 72 and my husband will be 75 in January. So, it's time to stop the garden race, we just needed to tone it down a bit.🥀🌻

Hi Kate! That's so coincidental and exactly our story. We just can't handle that much work anymore and all the lifting, like you. Norm is 77, and I'm 75 now. Hard to believe we are at that stage, but we've been gardening at two houses since the 70's.🤪 Thanks much for sharing that. It is nice to know we're not alone. I bet you will enjoy the new look at your place. Like they say, sometimes 'less is more.' We've been slowly downsizing the gardens, too. 😊👍 Have a blessed week ahead.🌻🌻🌻

I get it, we have a lot of rabbits, too, and they've done some damage to my garden too. I put a plastic mesh netting fence around some of the plants that they won't leave alone, which works. Thankfully, we have a lot of red tail hawks, so by the end of summer, the rabbit population decreases.😮

Peggy, I'm cutting back in my beautiful yard also. Rabbits don't like the smell of moth balls. If you put a small packet under their favorite plants, they stay away. Good luck.
