Thank you - I'm celebrating my 4th week of recovery from a Weber 3 fracture, nonoperative. I can walk on it a few feet but if I'm going to the kitchen the boot is a requirement. Don't want to take a chance of injuring it further.

Do take his advise for exercise after acl surgery in just few days back I am on day 4 I tried to lift my ankle by pressing knee over a towel but it wont lift up. Tough so dont try these exercise in your 1st week
@sportrehabguide24 күн бұрын
That’s exactly the opposite of what is supposed to be done! Yes it may not look pretty but the general advice will always be to regain terminal knee extension as quickly as possible within tolerable pain limits. Obviously there will be different advice if not a routine procedure but no need to provide an uneducated opinion.
@mistycom14 күн бұрын
I think it depends on the preparation before the surgery. I've been strengthen the muscles and now on the 3rd day after the surgery I can lift my leg.

@stevebrown-bz5ry25 күн бұрын
Yes. Start off very gentle....cast off today..after nearly six weeks...displaced fracture...I didn't expect it to immediately feel great when that cast came off...but was surprised at the bruising where cast had pressed hard...the stiffness..is unreal...and more pain than I was expecting....still quite swollen.... So..will follow these along with the sheet of exercises I was given....did try them...but..I can't even manage some of them..

Calf raises give me pain in my plantar fasciatis, which I did not otherwise have. However it does help my sore achilles. How can I deal with it
@jonsalisbury27 күн бұрын
First consider your footwear when performing the exercises - it might help to have a stiff soled shoe/trainer with a "rocker" shaped sole. Second consider taping your foot when doing the achilles exercises, search "low dye taping" for ideas. Third, seek out a professional that has experience in treating both foot and achilles who will be able to adapt treatment and suggest other alternatives to consider such as insoles, if appropriate.
@jonsalisbury27 күн бұрын
and you could try some stretches to lengthen your calf complex as this will reduce the strain going through your plantar fascia.

Can you offer any exercises pre surgery. I worried about doing a wrong exercise hurting myself
@S0ULA278Ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for sharing this videos. I have a question, my fracture happened back in october and i didn't do any plate surgery, just cast for 6 weeks. Does it takes longer for the stiffness to go away compare to someone that actually do the surgery? It has been a week since my cast were removed and my physio session was appointed next week on friday. I felt discouraged and depressed so much because of the immobility i felt right now.

Hi, Dahling, love your gentle approach , had titanium plate in wrist a month ago from radius and ulna frActures, am 74 and a half , am fumin’ to get back to fighting mode but am terrified that too much “ therapy” might break the plate , am still quite stiff and there is a lot of scar tissue , it’s a mess! What kind of movements and behavior do you recommend? 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚🐾🌎
@jamble7kАй бұрын
anything you do bar another similar trauma won't break the plate, just go slow and steady 👌. . i am in the same position 5 weeks on 2 plates on my radius 😅

Not sure. Everyone is different. I tend to suggest 3x weekly to patients so they can assess reaction over 24-48hrs. Off top of my head, research on this states everyday in earlier stages if I remember rightly.

@sportrehabguide3 ай бұрын
Can’t comment on your personal situation but these exercises are suited to patients who can weight-bear with a boot. More complex fractures/surgeries as you say require periods of non weight-bearing.

Difficult to say as every patient is different especially if a more complex fracture. Always best to be guided by your surgeon.

@sportrehabguide3 ай бұрын
Different answer for every patient so can’t comment on your personal circumstances. When assessing patients if young/active and at a good level of fitness and sport usually means early stage exercises daily. Odd day off if not ready and too acute/painful.
