I heard you guys talking about your rescue pyr and glad you saved him. I have a 10 day old right now that a farmer let his dog breed when she was way too young and wouldn’t feed the babies. Almost all died. His neice was able to save 3😢 I got this little girl from her. I have three adults but mine are all fixed. This baby seems to be doing very well but I’ve only had her for a few days. Just watching puppy videos to compare her size bc I’ve never had a pyr this young. She’s gaining daily but she is smaller than yours still. I’m concerned about her size. Probably bc she went days with little to no nutrition. Thanks for sharing your babies.

Very informative. As an auxiliary anecdote, my grandparents got a potbelly pig as a house pet that they trained to use a litter box. He would come and go as he pleased, and would frequently go up and down the stairs- that is, until he got so big that one day he went down the stairs and he could not physically get back up. He was a bit over two hundred pounds. Perhaps potbellies were bred to be a little heavier back in the 90s, or perhaps my grandparents were just mislead by the breeder. In either case you have to be ready for anything if you want a pig as a pet, even ready to re-home the pig, because the upkeep and their temperament and size can get exhausting.

I use 2 buckets side by side for my dog. He stands in one bucket and drinks from the other one. He likes to shove his whole face in the water to drink, so a bucket works best.

Our Great Pyrenees has the option to come inside our house through a doggy door. In cold weather in the 20's, he stays outside almost constantly.

I have had my Great Pyrenees mix (with Husky and Malamute) and she hardly barks. I was told that the malamute trait is what made the difference.

FACT = ALL DOGS suffer in heat & humidity days ..... BUT, Darker dogs unable to get shade and enough water will suffer more. People who think they have OUR ISSUE with sweating are WRONG .... dogs have NO SWEAT GLANDS and rely on Panting - rapid respiration to cool their core temperature ! They must have what is critical ... FOOD, WATER & SHELTER .... to survive ... and PERSONAL INTERACTION from their humans is ESSENTIAL ! Especially with Pyrs !! The Pyrenees is a very smart, cunning, observant & emotionally dialed in creature .... He or She will depend on those that CARE FOR THEM whether inside or outside dogs they may be !!! Mine is a female and the best dog I have ever known, had and I am very much her best friend. This video is very good in it's showing the Breed and it's overall tendencies and attributes .... adding to it I would say PYRENEES NEED ROOM TO ROAM, GUARD & PRACTICE LONE OR SOCIAL BEHAVIOR INTUITIVE TO THIS BREED. Love them, just love them. jj

Thanks for the video. I followed your instructions and everything went fine. I only had to use the torch on 2 of the bolts, the came out pretty hard heated or not. I had a couple of the mounts that were stuck together pretty hard but a little prying and hammering and a few choice words they came apart!! Overall it went pretty good. Took me about 4.5 hours to complete the task. And what a difference it made! Thanks for your help!
