How is this a test if the wooden stick used to connect the load touches on either side of the span, and in some cases both sides? That stick basically acts as a structural element of the bridge. Also, bridges are subject to maximum stress when loaded right in the middle of the span. Should have used a much shorter and more flexible stick to make a decent comparison between the designs.

This heartless teacher just pouring it on and adding weights it should have been very incremental so there is only a constant force she basicially broke the bridge by pushing down on the weight wtf

So, I'm assuming the board going across most bridges is supposed to spread out the load evenly. But it's not made from spaghetti. Doesn't that basically make it bridge made of whatever the board is made of, reinforced by spaghetti? I get that the board isn't (supposed to be) touching the table. But I still feel like that's cheating.
Why do some have the brown planks and others not? The planks would seen to be an advantage to distribute the force.

ALL bridges tested with the distributed load using the wooden planks were not fairly graded. The wood spans the gap and supports the load. The teacher clearly shows this with bridge #5 where the bridge fails and the wood continues to support the load because it's lapping the tables. She displaces the wood 1-2mm and the load falls. Bridge #4 had the same issue. This did a great disservice to these students. All that is required for a "fair" distributed load is: (1) the load distributing beam NOT bend, and (2) the load distributing beam spans all of the truss member intersection points in the lower chord (or upper if that's how you want to run the competition).

The person pouring the water should understand that the velocity of the falling water creates more force than just the weight of the water once it's in the bucket. So she's actually exceeding the kilos measure while the pour is happening.
