I actually REALLY LIKED the Capsule Monsters episodes BECAUSE they weren't duel based at all and more adventure based to figure out, much like the 1st ,3-4 part Legendary Heroes episodes just after Duelist Kingdom where the Big Five were 1st trapped/banished/whatever, before they became stuck in Noah Kaiba's Virtual World. I also really liked Yugi's armor look here from those episodes.

I highly recommend reading the entire manga if you want to see the story of season 0 continue. The first 59 chapters are pretty close to what you just watched in season 0 but after those chapters it follows the story of the duel monsters anime while not needing to adapt anything from it. The dm anime also changes a lot of things it didn't even need to change but I'd rather not spoil anything.

Same, had PlutoTv tuned to Yu-Gi-Oh last summer, and watched it and oh my god it's so unbelievably boring, the characters just talk too much and the story is just so insanely trashy. Never let 4Kids or Konami USA ever cook like this again.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like Mihu. At multiple points in season 0 I was sure she pretended to be dumb only for the guys like Honda to fulfill her needs. It never seems like she did it because she is evil or so. But I don't know why exactly she is doing this.

Just so it can stop bothering my brain when people bring up how not-card gamd accurate the anime & manga were: 1) The fiction came first and originally wasn't trying to even mimic being a TCG, and its actually stupidly obvious in hindsight that it was only using the TCG playstyle as an asthetic choice 2) what Duel Monsters ACTUALLY was, was a TTRPG with TCG elements blended into it; more than likely the original idea was the card descriptions described lore/aspects about the card & provided stats; meaning anyone could reasonably pull off anything as long as no one called them out on it 3) it follows the classic 'rule of cool' where the rules are ignored in favor of pulling off something interesting. Only really putting this here as fun facts and so i can better ignore the nitpicking as just nitpicking.

This was literally all just the first Manga book for yugioh that I read back in like middle school I remember it, and realized it was all literally just season zero without kaiba
