When one of your school's major colors is red and your sports teams are named "Wolfpack", there's kind of an expectation to take an interest in red wolves.

Hello, just a question (as potential applicant's father): is CVM open only to students already holding an undergraduate in Pre-Vet Science? Thanks in advance for the info.

I’m working hard and am going to achieve high marks in our pre-vet program and hope to be able to attend this magnificent school! Financially it would be a game changer for my family and the dynamic curriculum would help me be able to tackle any field large or small! 🙌🏼

Hiya folks. I know we’ve had a helluva time as humans but I’m worried about some of our flying friends, in particular, bats 🦇. We’re having nasty time with mosquitoes this summer and I’m just not the bats I usually see. My two bat house don’t have lodgers and I don’t see any chasing flying insects around street lights. I live pretty rural area. Am I just not seeing them?

Dean Lunn, Dr. Cannedy and Dr. Nelson, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. By making this, you have explicitly set expectations for our behavior and for real discussions that will strengthen the culture of the CVM. To all who participated in this messaging, thank you for your leadership and your humanity. Both are much needed right now. Dr Cannedy, to answer your question; when I first met you, I first saw a tall, black man. I then realized that yours was the only black face in the crowd of people we were in. Since then, I've been honored to work with you and gotten to know you. You are doing an amazing job with Diversity and Multicultural Affairs for the CVM and NCSU. Thank you! -- Sandy A.

Thank you CVM for the wonderful message. This profession is all about showing compassion, let’s make sure we show compassion to not only to our patients, but to EVERYONE within the community.

Congratulations to all of you! Mine graduation ceremony was 20 years ago -- ugh! -- but I still remember the day very clearly. I also remember how I cringed when a client called me "Doctor" for that first six months or so...I felt very unworthy of the name. I was lucky to have a few great mentors in my life, and now, 20 years out with my own small animal practice, I'd love to mentor someone else. So if you love outdoor activities, four full seasons of the year, a four day work week, and laughing through your work day, hit us up on our website (rapidsvet.net/) or on our Facebook page (Animal Medical and Surgical Clinic of Wisconsin Rapids)

Train your pets. Be a responsible pet owner and don't act like they should freak out and they wont learn too at loud noises.
