We have said it before, and we will say it again: ABBY JIMENEZ SUPREMACY! I am so with you on the ML dilemma because there are so many popular romances or books in general with that 'alpha' overly misogynistic ML that I almost always don't find too appealing (of course with some exceptions) and so Abby Jimenez is just serving the beautiful amazing male leads consistently we are eating so well! 🥰 I REALLY want to get into more work by S. A. Chakraborty because I've heard nothing but good things but I keep putting it off! This may be my push to get into City of Brass! I've also been a quarter into the third book in The Raven Cycle for like TWO YEARS now because I just don't want it to end, but maybe I'll finally bring myself to finish it! And lastly, you're so real for the special edition comment because I literally cancelled any book subscription box I had and stopped buying special editions because I don't want to be dropping like 70 Australian dollars on a book that I might not even like!!! it's madness!
@ozisorbit2 күн бұрын
Abby is feeding us so well lmao but the girls that I follow were not lying about S.A Chakraborty so I wish you the best reading experience when you start that series! For the raven cycle tho, i feel that lol just know those characters will never leave you even if you finish the series. And for the special editions, I've learned my lesson haha my philosophy might change when I have more disposable income but for now I'm not letting those pretty edges and covers fool me!!

@@ozisorbit I'm so keen now i just put city of brass on hold at my library! YES you get it like even though i haven't been reading the series I feel like the characters are walking around and interacting in my brain like they were so fully fleshed out and characterised that they already feel so complete! That is so true like I now own THE WORST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ on my shelf because i got it in a book box, HATED it, but the sunk cost fallacy of spending that much on a book hasn't let me unhaul it yet 😭 never again!
@love.lauren...4 күн бұрын
first of all, your bedspread is absolutely ADORABLE!!! also I was SO sat for this video, i love the way you talked about this and every single point you made was so valid! I especially love the idea of New Adult actually being a vehicle for those age demographics to find those kinds of new life-stage stories quicker, so although I probably won't BE a 'new' adult still by the time this genre gets ironed out a little, it's nice to have some hope for the future for the new adult sphere!
@ozisorbit3 күн бұрын
thank you, i have a minor obsession with snoopy lol i'm glad you agreed with me cuz i felt like i was very all over the place with my points haha but yeah, there is some real merit to the convo even if they implement it (or something similar) after we've moved past the new adult life stage! I'm very excited to see where trad pub goes with it honestly.

I have not read Evan Winters. I've just heard that the main character is not very fleshed out and is all about revenge, revenge, revenge. And the typical "someone murdered my wife so I'm going to kill everyone" which is not bad in itself, it's just that I've seen that used so often by male authors and I'm tired of seeing women's suffering used as a device for the male character and/or plot to move forward. It's why I dnfed The Greatcoats series by Sebastian De Castell.

I've read the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin and I ADORE them. They will break your heart though. I've also read almost all of Robin Hobb except for the last trilogy because I know it's going to be painful and I need to be in the proper headspace for that lmao. I have the first three books in the Red Rising Saga and have not read it because I've heard there is fridging in the series and that irritates me to no end. But I'm still interested because I love Sci-Fi even though I haven't read enough of the genre. I have the entirety of the Rook and Rose trilogy and I am also super daunted by them lmao. Hopefully we can get them read soon. Im not interested in John Gwynn
