You're so right for the Fifth Season fear!! I borrowed it from my library and then returned it because I'm just not ready hahah can't wait to hear what you think! And I'll tell you what, I am actually DEVASTATED because I read Red Rising last year and the entire series became my favourite series of all time. I bought multiple copies, I bought the dramatised audiobook recordings, just everything. I ate, slept, and breathed this series and I knew it would be my favourite series forever - we love a hopefully yet gritty revolution story.....and then the author, Pierce Brown, came out swinging as an absolutely staunch z1onist and continues to speak out against Palestine consistently....like bro did you even READ your own book????? I haven't been able to touch the series since then, feel like a part of me died when I found that out 🥺😭 but LOVE that you got it second hand 💖 it really is a well written book, just wish the author wasn't such a hypocrite.

Great vid Ozi! Not a topic I've seen done on BookTube. I really want to start the red rising series, but I only have the 1st book(bought second hand as well) and I know I'm gonna want to continue on to the 2nd ASAP. I'm scared of starting the Malazan series, it seems so daunting😬 I think yall need to search interviews with Mosab Hassan Yousef, his father is co-founder of Hamas and Mosab speaks out against Hamas. Very interesting and revealing. And before anyone asks, I'm pro no innocents getting hurt on either side.

I've read the Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin and I ADORE them. They will break your heart though. I've also read almost all of Robin Hobb except for the last trilogy because I know it's going to be painful and I need to be in the proper headspace for that lmao. I have the first three books in the Red Rising Saga and have not read it because I've heard there is fridging in the series and that irritates me to no end. But I'm still interested because I love Sci-Fi even though I haven't read enough of the genre. I have the entirety of the Rook and Rose trilogy and I am also super daunted by them lmao. Hopefully we can get them read soon. Im not interested in John Gwynn

Red rising is the first book i actually listened to.. it's SO GOOD. It's not overly detailed when it comes to sci-fi, its more character driven. This was so great for me as I wasn't a sci-fi fan at all. Note: my brother has been pushing me to listen it for yearssss until I did. I read the trilogy in a week.. so addictive! I definitely recommend :) I prefer reading to listening to books generally, but if you like to listen to audio books, the narrator of red rising kills it, he's very talented.

if you pick up any of these, please let it be red rising 😭 i just finished shadow of the gods, definitely is a slow start because each character is setting up for their own adventures, but i loved the characters and their ruthlessness
