“Mangas” is not a word. “Manga” is both singular and plural. The irony of trying to criticize Americans for how they represent manga, when one can’t even use the word correctly, is nothing short of amazing. 🥲

Indeed, Blame is a manga that must be analyzed rather than read; it's like the game Signalis, it's an environmental narrative. Of course, you can read Blame and play Signalis on the surface, as 90% of people do, but that would be a waste. There are lots of little things that if you don't make the effort to analyze them, you can't understand them because there's no dialogue and no narrator. But the little things tend to be grouped together in volume 1 of the deluxe version and the end of Blame, after which we're more into classic linear narration. In the environmental narration stuff, there's all the passages with the character in front of a door, the big panels of drawings with fog, these types of drawings are a common use to make a dream metaphor, and according to the artbook, the LOGs include dreams in addition to various recordings, as the megastructure records everything and everyone down to their souls for those who have a connection with the system. There's another thing about the dream metaphor that people don't realize, but between volume 7 and 8, Killee descends and ascends a floating bridge, which is also a dream metaphor, as the character rewinds his memories, This is the meaning of the last panel of the ex-log, and if we analyze this panel and reflect on the meaning of what we find in the two epilogues, then we can understand the real meaning of Blame and what the author meant when he said he hated power in interview and that the future was no future. For example, in the little hidden stories that require analysis: - There's the play of blue and red, these two colors have a use that follows their own logic, if we group the illustrations together we can see that red always represents power, danger, death for example, so a negative interpretation, whereas blue represents life, the chaos that maintains life, the city, there's a positive interpretation. If we take two types of illustration that are easy to understand, in some illustrations we have both Killee, who is either in red or with a red hand, and Shibo next to him, who is in blue. In this case, Killee represents the tool at the service of power or the armed arm of power, and next to him we have Shibo, who represents life. On the French cover of Noise, we have the heroine in red with a blue arm, representing her character who is at the service of the police and therefore of power, so she's in red, but as she's rebelling, her arm is blue, which is a metaphor for her rebellion. So with this reading grid we can already find history and see that everything that is power is negative, so when Shibo is in the Netsphere, the fact that she's in blue and the rest in red, indicates that the Government Agency isn't as positive as it will claim in volume 2, and if we're careful we can see this as early as volume 1. - There's also symbol III, which the author insists on at the beginning of volume 1, has a history (you'll have to read Noise to understand it), it's the old symbol of the single power that ruled the city in Noise's time, it was a corrupt and totalitarian power, so when we see the parasites eating the wall where this symbol is, we can read it as a manifestation of the return of this power, through the Government Agency, which has all the powers of the old power. And this power is bloodthirsty, as we can see from the metaphor of the boulder falling into the city, then we find this symbol in reverse, dripping with blood. - There are also hidden meanings in the symbols worn by the organizations and characters, which can be traced back to electronic symbology: the I symbol may represent the basic symbol for current, and is found on humans; the safeguard symbol -/- represents a cut-off switch (coupe circuit) as a sinister metaphor for its operation, the government symbol +/+ represents both a crown and the circuit-breaker (disjoncteur) symbol, indicating that in its operation it can take the decision to discharge the current to short-circuit itself, and we see at the beginning of Volume 1 that it liquidates instead of safeguard the humans. - Once we've understood the end of Blame, we can also analyze who the girl and dog are at the beginning of Volume 1. Give a new meaning. - As can the visual link between the last appearance of the safeguard in log 65 and the statues in volume 1. We can see that the statues carry the Dharma wheel, which has significance for the functioning of the safeguard. - In the little hidden things, in Noise there are often public toilets, which should be seen as a consequence of mase's surveillance, which records you down to the very depths of your being, with the result that people no longer have an instinct for privacy, and so resort to using collective public toilets.

Honestly agree. Toi animation ignited that toxic power scaling trend saying South Galaxy was destroyed by a super Saiyan. and later it evolved into Goku being able to complete 5th Dimensional Feats in Super Saiyan God. I do not think they know what 5th Dimensional feats are.🤦🏾♂ I've seen every episode of DBS and Enjoyed the Manga, but never have I seen Goku gaining the ability to traverse forward and back through every timeline, inherit the knowledge and experience of everyone in his proximity, create or erase entire universes with just a thought alone. I know without a doubt Toki Toki is indeed a 5th Dimensional Character, Whoever Created the Super Dragonball and the Omni King to some degree. If the peak of power of characters being reckless with their energy reserves by mindlessly firing it off with intention to deal as much collateral damage as possible for the sake of showing off, mindlessly throwing hands until someone passes out being the peak of what makes, while being creative with your abilities and taking advantage of the enemy's weakness being seen as "Cheap tricks" does not only shows that they hold low battle intelligence but it feels like an insult to all Martial Artists. The combination of the toxic power scaling and Toi's overhyping personally warp many people's perspective of Goku, instead of thrill seeking a Martial Artist willing to find a challenge, they turned him into well basically a Homelander Archetype for anyone outside of the Dragon Ball Universe. On the Brightside, the Granola and Gas arc left open an interesting door for many creative types. Random characters even some with higher Battle Intelligences appear gathering the Dragon Balls and wishing for Ki Manipulation to stack on top of their current power have to potentially be one of the most entertaining memes.

I feel like people spread around weird things due to Emilia and Regulus is recent episodes. Saying that he saw her as a child and decided on her to be his wife then. What I don’t understand is that if Pandora’s reality manipulation worked, then wouldn’t he not remember ever having met them? Or is it that targets of her ability aren’t that different from those seeing it outright.

I’m so glad to see Alien 9 is still making the rounds on KZbin. Great work, dude. 🤩 Addition: I had no idea there were more chapters after what was translated. Thanks for the info. I just found them on Manganato and am going to read them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the creator is an African dude, though. Not even African-American. Like, _actually_ African Not a criticism, by the way. I just don't think that bit about him being American is correct. Unless he migrated there and became a citizen, of course

I thoroughly enjoyed the review. I sincerely thank you for the effort that went into making the video. You're absolutely right when you mention that we need to promote more stories that dare to be bold and explore themes in a way that is not not generic or that leans heavily towards Japanese sensibilities. I thought I was the only one who felt as if I was watching an anime when I read the story. The world building and lore is definitely a major point of intrigue. Character motivations and interactions also add to an engaging experience. I would love to see how things continue to develop. Keep up the awesome work! 🏆
