That's not the New Faces show. Songs performed on that show had to be original, acts couldn't do covers. Showaddywaddy did Hey Rock n Roll, I remember watching it, they were one of very few acts to score a maximum 120 points. Even Tony Hatch was well impressed with them, the Mr. Nasty of the show. I saw them live many times in the 70s, they did an awesome show!

BEST CONCERT I went to in the late 80s was in HYLANDS PARK, CHELMSFORD, ESSEX and a forerunner of the FESTIVALs they have there now (at least pre COVID). IT had DARTS2 (a revived DARTS) then SHOWWADDYWADDY and finally SHAKIN STEVENS (SHAKY). Best bit was a male Punk dancing with Dave Bartrum on stage plus this girl I danced with whi nearly pulled my arm out the socket. Never saw her again

Hubby and I followed the band around a lot back in the 70s and 80s. Trev is my husbands cousin and my daughter's godfather. Danny was a lovely guy too. Always friendly and polite. We had lots of good times with them all.

Showaddywaddy always just made you want to get up and dance. Fantastic group that never seemed to really take themselves too seriously and as a result, kept rock and roll alive with a constant party atmosphere.
