They deserved to win some kind of awards. But that didn't happen. This game doesn't need any other games but I just wished they made another game. According to the gap between A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem, A Plague Tale 3 should be release in 24 March 2026

the thing i love about lies of p, that it really digs deep into the concept of free will and consciousness, but then surprisingly, sin and responsibility. it really does pay homage to the original pinocchio story. many times in the game's dialogue and the special lines characters say, and the black and white answers that pinocchio gives are transparent in the theme of the story. if youre no stranger to pinocchio, you know its a cautionary tale for children lying, but its much deeper than that, its reflective to the human condition in which people lie when its convenient, and we lie and we act as if we aren't human, we tells ourselves we don't have a conscience when it doesnt suit us to feel morally guilty, theres other parts in the game where characters will deny you your feelings simply because you are a puppet, the player actually somewhat feels offended by the enemies telling pinocchio he isnt human, because pinocchio sees so much tragedy and horror, and so much from his father and others in the hotel. you become influenced by it all. the player will come across moments where they are honest, and then times they want to lie, you will lie because of your conscience not wanting to hurt people because of your doubts, or times when you won't lie, and characters will tell you, not lying doesn't make you human. pinocchio's sins weigh heavy on him and he may choose to deny his humanity to avoid accepting responsibility for his sins. gepetto in the story plays a crucial role in the concept of the father, the son and the holy spirit, and the wrath that follows the son of god being wrongfully sacrificed. but theres all this irony to it all. the puppets do have feelings, because it isn't flesh that makes you human, its your mind and soul, which is what pinocchio has, it isnt necessarily referencing the concept of AI if theyre capable of consciousness or not, or if there is no difference. the reality is--- Humans are bound by their feelings and thoughts, their memories that are interwoven with past, present and future inside our thoughts and feelings. those very things determine good and evil, and our sins, if we choose to accept who we are, or deny the truth about the human condition. this proves the story is about responsibility of sin and free will, because Pinocchio very much plays a resemblance to Jonah's story in the bible, now, the original pinocchio story was a terrible dogfish instead of a whale, but it is the same concept and they were drawn very similarly for years, by Jonah swallowed the whale, he listened to god, didnt lie to him, and found god again, the same way Pinocchio does in the original story, only by taking responsibility for your humanity, can you be saved. the story is very much relevant to this in the video game. they discuss the blood pinocchio has on his hands, why should he feel bad? hes not human, he cant feel..... right?....

I just finished Requiem today and I am heartbroken. At some point I had a feeling we won't be getting a happy ending but not like this.. Such a masterpiece, I'll forever remember this awesome journey. R.I.P King Hugo.

The emotional and psychological brutality in this game (and its antecessor) are so... vivid, so strong. The story is incredibly touching. I still haven't fully recovered. Amicia and Hugo will be a story that will be with me, in my head, for a loooong time. Thank you for these games.

Plague Tale doesn't get enough credit for the fact that it's a fully complete game without DLC to finish telling Amicia and Hugo's story, and is totally playable from beginning to end without any game breaking glitches that need a post-launch patch. Very few developers and publishers have this level of integrity with their games these days.
