god that was beautiful.. i just broke out into tears when they finished and looked at each other.. so special that connection.. i was just learning the piece and decide to google some covers to see how others play it.. this was really lovely ❤

At one point Jacob and Suzie share the same expression as they both stare off, seemingly aiming for a particular shared destination or effect. At another point orchestra members are mostly unified with Suzie as they all embody the shifting nuances of playing together toward a common goal. That ineffable destination is found and carried to the listener. True art.

Jacob was 17. His attitude of relaxed concentration is an extraordinary thing to behold, his composure occasionally giving way to little ripples of stank face when he pulls something especially tasty out of the bag. Suzie is a wonderful violinist and an amazing mother. She knew better than anyone the potential of her son's talent, and it's remarkable that she found a way to nurture it so effectively, seemingly without ever imposing on it. Their collaboration is absolutely beatiful. I swear there's a moment during Jacob's solo when she's turning to liquid inside, hearing the brilliance of his playing. But professional to her core, she remains calm and carries on.

I often see orchestra conductors getting lost in the conducting of dynamics and feeling, and eventually swinging wild circles in the air haha... but one nuance I really appreciate about your conducting is that you're also giving reliable downbeats throughout - A fun compilation, well done!

I think Suzie knows what she's doing. Also, it's bloody good exercise ... you wouldn't know she turned 60 last year!
@RoyceRemix21 күн бұрын
Oh she certainly does! I meant that many professional orchestra conductors will conduct ahead of the beat, focusing more on emotion than timing... and to be fair many professional musicians keep their eyes glued to the sheet music anyways haha! But yes Suzie is great, hope to see her in person some time
