Absolutely amazing. And the bass(es) and soprano cornet. I love it when I can literally hear the words poured from the musical instruments. Fire a volley! Amen!❤

The original was recorded in 1954 by duo named Gene and Eunice but was covered by Perry Como who had the bigger hit with it.

My earliest recollection of the Army. played by Castleton Band. The day I met my wife I was seconded to the band at Manchester Star Hall for the Easter Convention 12 April 1966 (it was the young lady's 12th birthday, the day after my 16th) led by General Coutts and this was the first song we played (Im afraid my eyes were on a certain young lady not the bandmaster of the good General). We chose this song for our wedding at Heywood Corps 5 years later. My wife, Joy, was Promoted to Glory last august. Unknown to me the conducting officer slipped this into the order of service, asking me if I knew the last verse at all? Praise be, I did and recited it. So our life together on Earth started and ended with this song. So appropriate in every way. About 15 years ago I had cause to work at the building which had been Castleton Corps. The smokey joe coal heater was still there and functional. I know its only bricks and mortar but I was moved to stand on the steps where I recall, aged about 3, the song for the first time, and sing O Boundless Salvation. Fortissimo. And why not? Anyone passing by may have thought me a trifle mad but I didn't care in the least. The Lord told me to do it so I did. To my mind the most inspiring song in the Army and my personal testimony.

Perhaps my earliest memory from the Army, I do my best to sing it but I find it difficult with the emotions it causes. It was sung at my wedding (why ever not?) and I sing it whenever I need spiritual guidance. Its my testimony I suppose. I remember on one occasion the YP band leading the Corps through the centre of the town playing this and it made the hairs on my neck stick up. And once, when working at the former hall of Casteleton Corps, where my earliest memories are, I stood outside, on my own and sang this song fortissimo. So folks may have thought me nuts. So what. Wonderful song, wonderful words, wonderful music. Doesnt come any better or more uplifting!

I have played in brass bands all my life, I still do. I only found the SA a few years ago and I became an Adherent at my local Corps, I am not a SA Soldier and can not see me becoming one, I am happy as I am. This video breaks down all those barriers and miss conceptions that The SA are a boring lot, it shows they are real and have moved with the times if you think this is wrong you are have sadly missed out on the message. The Piece is Called I Will Follow Him. And I Do!. God Bless
