@cristian Ivar is treating Igor like his son and comforting him when he’s upset. This is a change of character for Ivar, who usually only cares about himself. In fact, Ivar has blatantly mocked Hvitserk in the past instead of comforting him. Yet Hvitserk constantly finds himself following Ivar and wanting his approval. It’s like an abuse victim wanting their abuser to tell them they love them.

@@markrobinson9394 Hvitserk mourning him on the battle field when he died was infuriating to me, but I understood it as well. Like, he still loved Ivar dearly despite all of that, like many abuse victims do.

@@nirmaljohnson5502 Did you not read the comment? Did you even watch the show and paid attention? Ubbe knew Athelstan when he was a kid. But Ubbe didn't know Alfred was Athelstan' son. Which is one of this show's mistake for not allowing Ubbe to find out that Alfred is the son of Athelstan. Because if Ubbe knew, he would've had a much better chance of having respect for Alfred since Ubbe knew Athelstan when he was a kid. Ubbe had respected him regardless but if Ubbe knew Alfred was the son of Athelstan their first meeting wouldn't have been complicated.
