Do you have any recommendations for the dash? I did the first row of stitching with the long single piece of thread. Due to the constant friction, the tread freyed over time (didn't break I was careful) and it looks fuzzy. In shorter lengths it may be much better but I'm not sure how to hide the knots

My coolant cracked whilst on highway due to being brittle and pissed coolsnt everywhere. I have ordered new coolant tank and fluid. It probbaly lost 50%. Should i fill new tank with di water until its full then start car with fan to burp air out and refil to level if needed. Then drain the tank completely whilst on or turned off? And then close drsin plug and refill with nee mix?
@MyNameIdeasWereTakenКүн бұрын
If the coolant was old and due for replacement anyway, then it's worth using distilled water and flushing the system. But if the remaining coolant is still good, then I would just top off with a premixed coolant.
@rapfactor1Күн бұрын
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken i am unsure when it was done. From view didn't look too dirty. Maybe if I drain some into bottle and look to see how clear it is. If its clean then just top up?
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken22 сағат бұрын
@@rapfactor1 You can buy a coolant tester from the autopart store for ~$5. It'll check for antifreeze level and cooling efficiency.

Is there no fuse to pull?
@MyNameIdeasWereTakenКүн бұрын
The fuse for the YAW sensor is shared with the ABS. Hence this modification to disable traction control but retain ABS.

Might rev faster with the lighter fly wheel, you will loose heaps of rpm during gear changes tho .
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken3 күн бұрын
It actually balanced out the car quite nicely, as the early VA WRXs suffered from rev hang.

Quick question in mine I can’t put it fully in manual mode only half way in the slot and Gear 1 will show if I fully put it to the side it doesn’t switch it stays in Drive this happened when I had to replace the Auto trans shifter slide cover
@obliviousorange2878 күн бұрын
Not MNIWT but there's a magnet that actuates this in the shifter cover. You may have installed it wrong
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken8 күн бұрын
@@obliviousorange287 Exactly my thought as well. The blind can easily be installed upside down or it's possible that one of the magnets fell off.

The plug does not fit well after warm-up. The plastic like material tends to lose its rigidity.

I have a V50 AWD with similar mods. Have you done a 0-60 run with the AWD? It was already sub 5 FWD so would be interested to see the difference. My V50 takes 4.2 and yours will be lighter!

Shifter feeling, handling response, engine sound and seats are elements I love about my S60 from 2008 as well. Nevertheless I upgraded to the KW V2 suspension because the grip in fast corners was awful and the car was moving even at small bumps. It's a daily pleasure driving it.

One question: If you do nothing about it, will it be dangerous?
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken21 күн бұрын
No danger, but if you have a noise like this, it's worth confirming that it is just a bad brake pad spring and not some other form of mechanical failure that could be dangerous.

How do i compress the suspension?
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken23 күн бұрын
Easiest way to do it is to place a jack under the outer ball joint of the lower control arm and jack it up until the car just slightly lifts off the jack stand. This simulates the car resting on its wheels.

It looks like you pull out the rubber piece that goes through the firewall. Do you reuse that or just run the new line through the firewall?
@MyNameIdeasWereTaken23 күн бұрын
Run the new line through the firewall. Any joints just introduce another point for potential failure.
