Hank Williams wrote "Jambalaya" in Beaumont Texas after visiting 'Yvonne' - a well-known club- which was a comfortable place for dancing. Gordon Baxter (local D. J) sat with him. Yvonne's club is long-gone. So are Gordon Baxter and Hank Williams. Jo-El Sonnier is gone, too. Long may the dance music of Yvonne's live on!!!

Malford and DG. That was killer.

Malford is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. And David's guitar playing so smooth and melodic. Storyville was robbed by the universe for not getting more fame and time together. Proof that life is not fair.

Whoa! I can't believe I came across this video. In the early to mid 80s, my first wife and I lived a block away from Birraporetti's on the same backstreet off Westheimer. I used to go there all the time with the Black brothers just to eat and get a few drinks down before we would all head out to party for the nights, way before any of us ever played any real gigs. Brian did use to play his Harmonica at a Pizza Inn (remember those) on Memorial Drive when we were still in High School (down the street from where we grew up and went to school) every once in awhile with another great harmonica player friend of ours, though, but he wasn't singing on stage just yet. I think Clint was just starting to get a few real gigs on his own at Longhorn, Sherlock's and a few other places back then that I can't recall the names of, after he left the band that he, Gevin, Kevin, Clint, and Jimmy started before going on his own. Wherever he would play, we'd all go out there to support him before he got famous. Man, this brings back a lot of Memories...

I got to a Storyville show early in Jackson Ms in ‘97. Milford was outside getting some walking exercise, and I just “could ‘not’” not go up and greet my favorite singer of all time😁. Of course my band was doing a couple of their tunes, he politely sit in my Honda accord and listened to my version of ‘don’t make me cry’ with a smile on his face he said it was great and thanked me…very classy, and down to earth human being that also fronted one of the greatest bands on this earth…and they should of been highly rewarded for their effort way more than they got! Feel that way about “Arc angels “ too😎🎸

I can’t say a thing against Doug but I really wish that band had spent more time rehearsing! They are constantly off beat, coming in to soon and all around sound very empty! You can even see it in Doug’s face while he is singing. He is getting frustrated. Livingston, Tx misses you, buddy!
