HELP PLEASE - I am another Tampa, Florida Daikin One homeowner. I paid more money to buy this inverter, variable speed HVAC unit and the installers can't get the humidity down to an acceptable level. Today they actually came out and said they adjusted it and on the display, the number was down...but as the day wore on, I could feel the humidity just as much as before. When i went into the settings, the had adjusted the calibration so that it appeared that the humidity level went down. So they obviously think it's all in my head. However when searching on the internet I found that folks living in Central Florida have all complained about the humidity level that the Daikin just can't seem to handle. I'm worried that I paid a huge amount of money now for a system that isn't appropriate for Florida's climate. If you have any suggestions of ways to tweak the settings I'm very familiar with how to program this thermostat now. After spending a lot of time searching for help online I ran across your video and it's the first one that gave me some guidance on settings. I really don't think my installers understand and know what to do with the thermostat. They obviously don't know how to tweak the settings appropriately if what they did today was just make it look like the humidity went down! That's very insulting. I guess because I'm an older woman they think I don't know anything and I can run circles around them when it comes to technology! Any settings you could suggest would be immensely appreciated!!!

I have a Goodman 2 stage AC unit (5ton) and Goodman matching air handler - both communicating. Both inside and outside boards were replaced. 3 service calls but can't seem to stop the unit from working while the tech is here, and then switching to "lost communication with the air conditioner" or "outdoor sensor needs to be added" or waiting for equipment. Short power cycles don't fix it but if I leave it off for an hour or more it sometimes comes right on and cools. Had three false repairs. Worked all night only to fail again in the morning. Not sure the techs can figure this out, especially with new boards already. Not likely wiring, or a long rest wouldn't fix it. could it be abad thermostat? Pulling my hair out here! BTW, awesome video. Your detailed explanation is perfection.

Really a helpful video. Have a very similar problem but the thermostat has been searching for the system for hours and can't find it. Yet it never comes up with the "Not Found" message as it says it would by the "Help" button. FYI, this is a CTK03. Do your have any insight as to what might be the issue? In a relatively rural area and have already spent money on services whose techs were absolutely clueless. No error messages on the boards of either the air handler or condenser. Supply voltage is ~28V AC and voltage differential between data lines is ~650mv AC. Would seem that is within system specs. Have found some ideas and looking for more insight. Firm believer in not being able to fix a problem if you do not know what it is. Thanks for any help you can provide.

The ctk03 could of taken a power surge wiping its memory thats a fairly old stat being a 03, if you know how to use a volt meter check across pins 1 & 3 in dc volts on the subbase of the thermostat
@robertgarner1235Ай бұрын
@@hvaciswin723 Thanks so much for the prompt reply. By subbase I am assuming you mean the 18 pin connector the stat plugs into. No indication which is pin 1 on the board so checked all 4 1 & 3 combinations. The pair on the upper left read at ~25mV dc. The other three pairs where around 4mV dc. You are correct in that it is old and I am going to replace it. What I am trying to do now is determine if it is the culprit. Service company wants to replace it and all the boards in the entire system even though no errors are showing. Have read numerous cases how this seldom is an effective approach. Often not solving the problem. I am trying to confirm if it is the stat or maybe the outside transformer associated. Power voltage is at 28 but have seen it is nominally supposed to be at 24.
@hvaciswin723Ай бұрын
@robertgarner1235 no on the stat wire connection 1, 2, r, c check across 1 & 2 looking for about .6 volts dc
@robertgarner1235Ай бұрын
@@hvaciswin723 Again, thanks. That is what I referenced earlier as data lines. With a DVM the dc voltage fluctuates at about 750mV +/- 100mV but it varies greatly. Put an oscilloscope on it. Line 1 has an alternating voltage of 500mv +/- 250mv. Line 2 has constant voltage of 300mv. Superimposed upon the 300mv baseline looks to be a square wave signal of 5 pulses consistently spaced in time but the pulses themselves are very erratic. Power voltage is still 28V.

For the Daikin fit heat pump, is there a way to adjust the fan speed? I just recently had a Daikin fit HP system, the noise level is crazy, and the fan seems running 100% full blast all the time, not really as what they claimed as a variable speed system..very sad..... is there any advice? really appreciated!!

I had it set at 72 and it was just so uncomfortable and humid so I dropped it to 68 and it’s nice and cool but it’s just running continuously doesn’t cycle with auto on. When u bring the temp up to make it shut off it jolts the temp right up and back on it goes!!!! Any thoughts on what might be going on? I’ve drove my self insane trying to figure out why this expensive wall mount won’t do its job when it’s in auto mode. If anyone has any tips I would be forever grateful lol 😂

Hi, I think you might be experiencing a similar problem to the one I solved yesterday. I don’t have AC so the problem was related to heating - but basically, after proper calibration, the Daikin One would only read the room temp accurately when the furnace was off. As soon as the furnace/HP would kick in, the indicated temps would be way off, and in response, the furnace would kick into high gear and blast us with hot air until the house felt far too hot. Finally after the furnace would stop, the t-stat temps would gradually increase and adjust to match the other thermometers we had in the room. It seemed like the system was causing its own feedback loop, and was driving me crazy. Finally yesterday, I realized that the t-stat is mounted in front of an air return duct. There’s a grille in the room above, and one below. So whenever the HVAC starts up, there’s air rushing behind it. Furthermore, the hole cut into the drywall where the tstat wires come through, is massive! So essentially, there was cool air blasting the back of the tstat whenever HVAC was running, which was skewing its readings and forcing it to react accordingly. The solution I found, was to insulate that hole. I cut a double-layer square of that thin packing foam that electronics are often packed with. Cut a slit for the wires, and placed the foam over the hole, so that it was sandwiched between the base plate and the wall. And lo and behold, the problem was instantly solved. You can probably use some sort of putty as well (like plumbers putty), but I like the foam packing material because it eliminates the draft and also insulates.

I have a question. I had my system put in. It is gas furnace and I have a 2 ton AC. The problem is since the dealer installed the unit the AC runs 24/7 unless I pull the outside fuses. Which I did during the winter. I have to leave the thermostat on heat during the summer months or the AC will freeze me out. If I set it to cool, It never shuts off. Is there anything I can look for? I had this system put in 2 years ago and the dealer hasn't been able to figure it out. They tried replacing the thermostat, But it still does it. I have no problems trouble shooting my system as I have worked with trouble shooting PLC's and other equipment and repairing for my work. I'm at my wits end. I don't want to have to buy another brand unit. I have the books for installing the units but have no clue what to look for on this one. Thanks.

Hello, I have a Daiken 4 Ton DX17vss481ba outside and a DV48fecd14 inside (installed 9/2023. The evap coil started dripping water to the floor under the unit. I have had techs out, the coil is clean, the charge is correct but i have high static pressure due to old metal duct work in my home. Never an issue with conventual AC's in the past however with the constant ramping up and down of the inverter technology this has begun. Temp at the top of the air handler (measured at the base of the ductwork exiting the cabinet is 56 degrees). All ducts in the home are open...curious how you would program the thermostat to prevent the drip that occurs I believe at lower fan speeds. I would prefer not to have to replace all of the ductwork in this 1955 home :). Unfortunately not many techs are experts w these systems. Thank you!

Thank you for this thorough explanation. I'm based in South Florida and just had a new 5 ton Fit system installed a few days ago. I realized that the temp readout on the One Touch was off as we were not comfortable and used 2 source temp/humidity gages I purchased online to verify. The system wasn't cooling as low as we desired and the tech showed how he was compensating for this delta using his gage. Unfortunately, there was a lag in his reading and not certain if the offsets were exactly correct. I reset the calibration based on an average of 8-10 readings on both gages ( +1 F and and -3%RH) and the One Touch over a 24 hr period. On average, the Daikin read 75 deg F and 53.6% RH. The 2 independent gages read 76.1 and 77 deg F, and RH of 48.3% and 49.9%. My question is: I did not waiting 30 mins as you stated in your video before adjusting the offsets. Would that cause any issues?

I don't know if he'll reply, but I've had the one plus for a good year. It took several adjustments and dealer visits to get it working right. I'm in Florida too. If you don't wait 30 mins the thermostat may read wrong. I've run into that. I want to upgrade to the one touch thermostat, but I'm scared to lol

Hello I have a Comfortnet Thermostat that is connected to the Honeywell HE360 Humidifier, the humidifier is not turning on so I bought a new fan side replacement to test and see if it was a broken fan control board or fan, I also replaced the solenoid (as the unit was very old). I am still not getting this unit to turn on so I am thinking it maybe the connection to the Thermostat (I know its connected to the IFC on the board) whats the best way to confirm the signal from the Thermostat is connecting with the humidifier?

@Mcclurecentral8 ай бұрын
You don’t, the circuit board turns it on and off according to conditions. You just tell it there is one and size of electric heat so it knows how much airflow to increase
