Lovely drive. Interesting to watch the shifter move. I wonder if there is a shifter bushing in need of replacement? Seems to move significantly side-to-side with minimal turns. Just curious.
@DriveDriverDriven28 күн бұрын
The shifter is a funky linkage setup with base pivot in a rose joint, and a link bar to the actual shifter about 6" forward. This leads to a lot of side to side play, but allows the centering spring to do a lot of the gate alignment left to right.
@comfort_in_discomfort28 күн бұрын
@@DriveDriverDriven Interesting. I can picture it. How is the feel otherwise while shifting?
@DriveDriverDriven28 күн бұрын
@@comfort_in_discomfort it takes a little getting used to, if you add too much lateral input you go from 2nd to 5th or vise versa. so the shifting movement feels like you're simply moving front to back and the centering spring is doing all the work. going from 3-4 to 5 or down to 2 the lateral movements feel exaggerated to get out of the middle gate. in the heat of the moment though, the action feels rewarding and instant, despite the play it feels really good.

Relays are fun . I had a guy teach me about them back in the early 90`s . When you start using them to flip between a power and a ground ,, that is something you would use for adding power door locks to a car . Glad to see you explain things to help people tackle this stuff on their own .
@deciplesteveАй бұрын
I would verify your ECU's circuitry. Most of the ECUs I have worked with provide "relay ground", not "relay power".
@DriveDriverDrivenАй бұрын
The ones I have worked with drive high or are selectable for power or ground, but you make a good point. You should verify how the ecu is switching before you start wiring.

What is your solution for the speedometer cable?
@DriveDriverDriven2 ай бұрын
There’s no speedo cable in this setup but I’ve got 3 options for speed pickups. Rear axle, transmission output, and gps antenna. I’m probably going to use gps and transmission output when I start wiring.
@MKSportscarsUSA2 ай бұрын
@@DriveDriverDriven Transmission output is a AC sine wave - you'll need to convert to a DC square wave for most data acquisition systems. The stock miata cluster has this converter built in. I used a AXM-120 from diyautotune to solve the issue.

I'm still in building phase on my Locost, but I went with Momo Racer 320mm(no ring and lotus horn button, almost flush)). Staticky it takes some force to turn the steering wheel. That PPF mount doesn't have to be cut off? I'm using the NC 6 speed. I had to cut off some chunks to make it fit.
@DriveDriverDriven2 ай бұрын
I think a 320mm steering wheel is probably the sweet spot, but I’ll want to fit the cage again to check clearance. The instructions don’t say anything about trimming the PPF mount but it’s extremely tight on the chassis. I trimmed it to be safe and give a little more wiggle room.
@19mati672 ай бұрын
@@DriveDriverDriven I believe GBS shows what has to be cut, but that for their chassis.

Kinetic vehicles sells a set of 4 Dzus fasteners w/tabs(needs welding). Though now it has been purchased by somebody else in Utah. He said, that mid March we will be able to buy directly from the site. You could consider a piano hinge at the bottom. You don't need holes for lights, license plate/light?

Blame the changes to the algorithm. If you like a creator, channel or series of videos you really need to “like” the videos, subscribe and hit the notification bell. Recent changes are bubbling up lesser known creators and content with less traffic to balance out populist weighting. I like the changes but it also means you need to change how you view and interact.
