Just gotta start. If you think too much about the end product it looks like too much to do, but start cleaning and digging/raking. Get 15-20 feet roughed in, then come back and get another 15-20 and before you know it it'll look like a track

Parents sacrificed a lot, we were pretty low budget... and definitely couldn't afford it with how costs have gotten these days. The last year we ran I saved for 18 months and worked 6-7 days a week to build a new car and rebuild our motor. Pretty cool to say I drove those things but dunno if I'll get in another one now that I have kids

Hey Dave, I've been using the Bittydesign stuff for a couple years now. 3 coats with paint brush and dry with a hairdryer in between... if your painting a bunch of bodies guys will use a cheap harbor freight paint gun. The magic is in the cutting, take your time and a backlight really helps to see the lines you've already cut for lining stuff up. Nice sharp blade. Short straight lines are the easiest to start with, round stuff like flames or really long straight lines are challenging

What is the invested time per week for upkeep? I have about 3/4 acre back yard and I would like to make 1/2 acre into a track like this.
@TheRacinJasonАй бұрын
Lots of variables. But I'd say I'm spending an hour or two a week unless there's projects. Plenty of weeks the tracks sit there and I come back to them and get them back in shape. Mid summer we hang at the oval so there isn't tons of watering

Last question for you, has this thing been reliable? If not what parts have you needed to buy?
@TheRacinJason2 ай бұрын
Happy to answer questions. I think the cars been great, I've taken it off some pretty big jumps and haven't had issues. I had a buddy break one of the front steering components so I grabbed the aluminum steering arm and hub as well as the rear hubs. Nice thing about these small cars is the parts are super affordable. I will say I don't run it as much as my 10th scale cars so I'm not sure what parts will wear out in the long run. I'd imagine drive train stuff will eventually need to be replaced just like any car

How big is this is comparison to the typhon grom or like the 1/16 slash? I am wanting better tires for my typhon grom for my backyard RC track. Cool car hopefully it’s durable
@TheRacinJason2 ай бұрын
I don't use it a ton but it's a really fun car, I've never seen either of those in person so I can't give you specifics on comparison. It's a bit bigger than the losi mini 8 buggy and about the same as the mini 8 Truggy. These use 2wd buggy rear tires with a car specific wheel
@Mr316jon3162 ай бұрын
@@TheRacinJason what do you mean by car specific wheel? In other words I can’t put these on a 12mm hex on my typhon? And how do they hook up on dirt? Semi hard pack.
@TheRacinJason2 ай бұрын
@Mr316jon316 if the tire fits your wheel you definitely can. One of the interesting things about the LC racing car is the buggy and Truggy is the same arms so the Truggy has a really specific deep dish wheel for that width. They work with any 2wd buggy rear tire but you need that specific wheel for this Truggy

I saw a track feature on a dirt european track that I thought was cool. They had a 180 degree turn that was tiled....like bathroom tile. It was level and smooth. When the 1/8 scale buggies hit it, they had to drift it. It looked like alot of fun. I assume they dug down, put in crushed rock, then concrete, then tiled up to the level of the dirt.

Nice! I've seen a lot of indoor layouts where they'll dig down to the polished concrete and it makes for a fun little slick section
