How do you feel about leaving a chain on if you over-expand the rivets and they split a little? Asking for a friend...
@fastflo12 күн бұрын
I think I would be alright with that. If it is split a little bit. I do not think it would ever come off. Most likely will still need a grinder to get it off.
@tmarbut2 күн бұрын
@@fastflo1 Thank you! I heard the first one go "snap" under the riveter head and then I... my friend... resolved to not do that again, and sure enough, the next one went "snap" exactly the same way. He's such a n00b.
@fastflo12 күн бұрын
@@tmarbut it is a tough thing to get exactly right . If you do not snap them you wonder if it is enough . But I do think it would take some serious force to get the actual link to pop off. I think the obvious and best answer would be to get a new one. But in all reality use your best judgement. Take a good look at it. Put a chisel in the middle of it and give it a few taps and test the strength . You will know if it is good or bad .

I'm confused, is this meant to be tuned well? Didn't sound great on throttle response, also the bar and chain aren't on so will need retuning anyway

Interesting how the floor boards are set at 45°. Was this standard in houses in that area at that time, or is it under a diagonal section of the house?
@fastflo15 күн бұрын
Great eye. I noticed that also and was curious myself. I will do a little research and see if I can find out if that was the method back then. It is just a square layout on the house design. Cool though. The house is really tough!

@@danielhenry177 That is funny! But it is not really. It is getting really bad. Soon they will have to start making fence clips smaller😀 Generations from now people will be like, why do they have all the wrong numbers on lumber? When in the beginning they were the right ones. Classic pay more get less.

@fastflo1 yeah, gotta laugh or just get depressed 🤷♂️ I have a feeling, in the future, real wood boards will be something only for the ultra-wealthy, us plebs will have some synthetic crap that sounds amazing until you see it 10 years later...off my soapbox 🤙🤙

I think the pros use a stretcher and come along . 20 ft you can use a hang stretcher. But I do feel like that tool would come in handy
@fastflo17 күн бұрын
I have those. Most everyone does. This tool is faster than setting up tree. And when you use a tree. You normally use this to take up the slack between the tree and the post anyway. It holds the stretch when the tree is removed exactly the amount that was on the jack. And when you are doing a bunch of small panels this is my top choice. It is also reversible you can lift with it. You can hang gates with it. I could go on...I call it a professional tool because the only place I have ever seen one is at the One of the fence companies I worked for. Have you ever seen one? They do come in handy for sure I think you would enjoy having one.

Why does no one use sand for on top of the gravel base for screeding for leveling?? Is using Sand a waste of money
@fastflo113 күн бұрын
I have used sand before. From what I hear is that the sand washes out and settles.... If you go beyond a half inch of sand. I do like using sand , it is much easier to level blocks in my opinion. I really do see the long term difference of just using gravel. It seems to me it would settle less. I think if you do use it, just be mindful of the amount.

Not only is this an ingenious way to tune an engine without having to poke, check and try, but MANY newer chainsaws have their own cryptic keyed design where a regular flat head screwdriver is rendered obsolete (unless you cut a slit yourself). Now to just find tubing the correct size…
