“Because of the image quality, i dont feel so confident” Yup, analog in a nutshell. Sooner you convert that nazgul to digital, the better off youll be. I bought a walksnail avatar hd kit for $150, put it in the nazgul, and never looked back.

to be fair that analogue set up was janky... I've seen and flown with better analog image quality. But I'm already a little skeptical of the quad outside of the just the VTX but after I see what I can do with the analog signal I'll whack an O3 in there and see how it really performs

I bought the Nazgul Eco XL5 Analog for EUR 150,- (in China) with Fatshark HDO+ RF and I am totally happy with this choice. Picture quality and range are good and the GoPro does the recording. I found the perfect solution and if something breaks, it' easy to repair or I just buy a new one. 🙂
@GarethDix2 күн бұрын
I'm going to try this out again but with a different analog set up (my HDZ goggles) as in the dji goggles with the adapter it was pretty unflyable but there's no way it should be that bad out of the box so I'm willing to see how it goes.
@malpermit3 күн бұрын
The Nazgûl Eco factory rates are slow, and it has expo on the throttle, it makes it feel ‘tame’. I put the rates up to 900 and took off throttle expo, it flies way better 👌👍
@GarethDix3 күн бұрын
I actually changed it over to my rates (which are still slower than my brother uses 750 vs 900). But you know what you’re right I didn’t check throttle expo! I’ll adjust and see how it feels, I mean it’s a higher kv motor but a little heavier so it should be fairly equal

Funny, I feel so much more confident with analog. Especially going from HDzero to Walksnail. Takes a few minutes to adjust as you actually noticed the latency right off. Lens does look out of focus. I prefer the 3.5 and it's time I order the Great Discus frame as I finally broke the Crux35 frame. Great video keep them up.
@bluefpv32633 күн бұрын
i guess its not that bad with latency if you go from high to low i notice it alot too when going from hdzero to ws
@GarethDix3 күн бұрын
I’m way more confident with my little quads on analog/HDZ than DJI normally. I’m pretty certain it’s just a visibility issue as through the goggles the video looked much worse than the recording. But I’ll test this properly to see if I can get it as good as it can be. You’ll love the discus though it feels just like the crux35 but much harder to break!
@GarethDix3 күн бұрын
I was hoping to have him use analog first to see if he noticed the latency when going back to DJI (although in hindsight I think it would have been more noticeable if I used the HDZ goggles on analog) but I agree everytime I switch between HDZ and DJI I have to reset how I fly

I noticed so bad when flying under trees close to the ground and close to the low branches. The instant i was to high or low even though is milliseconds it was already touching one or the other. With the HDZero I was able to correct on the fly. I use the analog with the HDZero goggles and you are correct it's great. Not all cameras though. There's still some bad ones out there. Crazy how it's noticed going from low to high but not the other way around.

A digital whoop isn't the be-all-end-all. If you just want to fly, analog is king. Analog is cheap and reliable, with the most options. I'm still using an Eachine EV800D with my analog Mobula8. I fly it indoors, every day. I can afford digital, but I remain unconvinced that I need it. It's not going to make my less-than-average skills any better.

I'm trying to get into fpv with a long-lasting battery and something pretty fairly small. this seems like a good choice but are you able to add a different batterie for a longer charge and if yes what batteries do you recommend and if know is there any other drones you recommend? Thanks, wonderful video
@GarethDix21 күн бұрын
So you can add larger batteries to make it last longer but that does make it less agile which might be a good thing as it’ll feel way more planted. There’s always a limit to when the weight of the battery starts to reduce the flight time instead of increase it. So two things to consider. As you start learning FPV the concentration takes it out of you so unless you intend on flying long range around 4-5mins is pretty good. So you should be able to use an 850Mah 3s battery on it… however you’ll have to cut the little tabs off the frame as the battery will be too large to fit the normal slot. I haven’t tried this as getting 3s batteries where I live isn’t so easy. For long flight times though the happymodel crux35 goes for almost 10mins on an 850 4s battery. However it doesn’t have prop guards (so you’ll go through propellers when you crash) it isn’t the most durable and doesn’t have room to fit an O3 air unit

@GarethDix24 күн бұрын
I didn't run with any protection on the camera as it doesn't stick out past the frame (except for the lower part when I'm running a 25degree angle). That said I guess I've been lucky so far as my camera is still in one piece and I fly this fairly regularly (although I don't freestyle it so much). I recently printed an o3 camera protector for my brother for a different mini whoop but it should work for this too www.printables.com/model/555104-dji-o3-camera-frame-maximal-lens-protection-minima

Might not be a good racer now but does freestyle just as good as the Air75

1min 10secs? were you going full throttle? haha... maybe something to do with the tune? as even in the cold I was getting more flight time.
