It's a convention that goes back to when I was at GS. Always a team effort. I am now at Veriten so in that sense Super-Spiked is a team effort, even if I am the primary person creating content.

@@super-spiked Makes sense, just one other thing in terms of hydrogen vs EVs. If we're going to do full cycle emissions accounting for sources, we can't just ignore all of the coal that is burned (in China) to make EV batteries and solar panels while complaining about the emissions from hydrogen.

Great story! Thank you for sharing these! Agreed they seem to align serendipitously. This must mean we’re headed for $200+ oil soon

You know how much I appreciate you and your posts. This week, again, was brilliant. The best thing that you do is stimulate my thoughts. Thank you for always crediting people who had developed a thought that you mention. Classy. I had a “pop up” trip to Las Vegas and the day that I was leaving, a stranger showed me a video that he had taken the night before in The Sphere of the Grateful Dead. I really regret not being able to experience that concert in that venue. Be well my friend.

Enjoyed the video and while this isn't the forum, I'll disagree with your economics of EV. Tesla is only profitable due to selling ZEV credits to other OEMs (and to a lesser extent FSD which is a whole other story).

Simple two word answer to the question....can you trust the United Nations on energy and climate....hell no!!! I don't like getting lied to and I especially dislike liars acting as "fact checkers". You were kind and respectful, more so than I would have been. Keep up the good work! Enough people speaking truth, along with the inevitable and inescapable voice of Nature, speaking through the Laws of Physics, will eventually overcome the false voices like the UN on the whole climate issue. In the mean time, a lot of people will suffer because of the waste of trillions of dollars that could have been spent far more wisely on things that will actually increase human flourishing.

I agree with the comment below, fact #2 is wrong, absolutely wrong! The fact is, human CO2 emissions are only partly responsible for Global Warming. If you Strat from the premise that all climate change is down to human emissions then you are on the "back foot" from the start and frankly most off the argument is lost.

Hey Arjun, just to add my 2c: - Fact #2 & #3: Not all climate change is caused by humans, and there's significant dispute among scientists about just how much humans are contributing to climate change. But we have (literally) billions of years of data of Earth's climate constantly changing. - Fact #9: Michael Cembalest discussed this issue in this year's JPM Annual Energy Report (beware of the PUNIs). Sadly the message hasn't gotten through. - Fact #11: One big unknown for wind & solar costs is that the build-out has so far been in windy and sunny places (which makes economic sense). But even with significant technological progress, it's not clear if wind & solar costs will continue to fall if we have to start building them out in places with less optimal wind and solar. Germany is the perfect example of this phenomenon. Just like mining, there's cost curves and not all locations are created equal (see global irradiation maps).

Dr Arjun… Dropping TRUTH BOMBS. 💥 I agree that there is an early-stage Sanity Pivot 🚨 ongoing, as executives with broader experience and substantial resources at hand are putting their shoulders behind The Transition. Amazingly many with a Contrary View have never even heard our arguments before. We must continue to be outspoken. “All of the Above” Energy Solutions with the smallest environmental footprint and maximum diversification for resilience is the way forward.
