How long did you work on your flowers 2 days before? And how many people did you have to help you? I’m considering doing my own flowers but I’m worried about not getting done in time.

Hello! I want to to get into Court Reporting but I am nervous about working on my listening skills. I think that is one of my flaws when it comes to my ADHD. Like when I watch a movie, or have conversations, I will sometimes space out. Have you ever had a problem like this or know any court reporters who have overcame this challenge?

I've tried to contact someone at the ATOZ program, I've called 3 different days multiple times and can't speak to a human. Is there any other free course out there to try it to see if its right for me?

And thank you for answering my question in this video, I was mainly confused because I was just starting to learn about CR and the only person I knew that did it, they did digital. So I did some more research and landed on Voice Writing and am currently going to school for that :) but your videos are super helpful and I enjoy watching them. I would have loved to learn on the machine but my lifestyle just wouldn’t allow it, I heard one person say you need to practice on the machine for hours everyday, but with the steno mask you only need to practice at minimum 30 minutes. Very excited for this career choice :) maybe some day I’ll learn the machine but for now it’s the mask.

You can’t use an iMAC M1 for court reporting. I had one I wanted to use and was told it wouldn’t be able to handle the software. Depending if you use eclipse vox or speech cat that software is pretty intense so you need a PC that can handle it and won’t give you any issues.

Is a stenographer different than a court reporter? Was the salary amounts you mentioned gross or net? Thanks

Digital court reporters do not use steno machines. I believe they just type up audio with a standard keyboard… here in Minnesota, judges are actually hiring them. They are known as “DCRs.” Big, big controversy for us stenos!
@Zoeyboey11114 күн бұрын
do they still have to type over 200 wpm?

Hii my name is Kinley, I start court reporting school in January. I’ve always wanted to find a career I could work freelance in and hearing you talk about your experience helped me decide on court reporting. My question is how do I get in touch with freelance court reporters in my area and how do I ask to shadow them?

It looks beautiful! For the window, would you be open to ordering shorter curtains that stop just below the bottom of the window so that you can still put a wood bench there? That could look nice.

In God you are Enough - always! Btw thanks for showing the vulnerable parts. The struggle for balance is real. It is a comfort to me to remember we are all the same. And great job celebrating your wins, later the same day you completed a substantial work project and took time to at-a-girl! Which is the antidote for anxiety. I only just learned the concept of saying "yay" out loud, felt crazy to me but it actually weirdly lifted me up?! Now I look for the wins. I am inspired to adopt your daily cleaning model to calm the mind. On a personal note, I get redness and sensitive skin too, esp. hormonal moments, for me Paula's Choice products reduce the condition, and with nicer skin I can wear makeup every day now should I need to. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. 💕

I am also considering an alcohol free wedding. If your family and friends are being childish about and or worse not even come, then they don’t love you… it’s as simple as that. You should have the wedding YOU want

Hi 🤍 I found you through your videos on court reporting a while back. Today I came across your channel while scrolling like a zombie and I’m so glad I did! I’m a court reporting student and I got married a couple of years ago. I have since then been so determined to read my Bible and understand it. I’m so excited! I have a Bible but never really figured out how to go about reading it. I will read Ruth now. I will be following your channel for updates on your Bible study and court reporting. Blessings to you & your family. 🤍🤍

So how do you transcribe a conversation where a witness doesn't speak clearly, such as an NBA player who mumbles and doesn't use standard English?
@lizzikane72692 ай бұрын
Many such cases. Theres such a diverse range of accents and dialects in this country. Part of the court reporters job is to immediately stop the proceedings and ask for clarification if they are not able to clearly understand at any moment. They are empowered and encouraged to do say. If you have a good judge or attorney, they may even ask on your behalf. Worst case scenario the court reporter can give up the case if they’ve made multiple efforts to ask for clarification and are still unable to understand. In that case a court reporter who has a background and experience with the dialect of the speaker would be ideal for the case. This is usually in the case of non native speakers with heavy accents.
