as a turkish kid, my mom grew up with a micro genius in the 90's and famiclones were pretty popular back then. most people called them atari likely because atari 2600 is like the first gaming console that got released in our country, funny how atari officially sold their consoles into my country but nintendo didnt so we got famiclones instead. Atari did what Nintendon't!

Tony LaRussa 95 had the most in depth stats, wind factors and the best managerial tactics of any Sega or Nintendo baseball title, loved it but World Series Baseball 98 was so much more developed gameplay wise

Im sorry, Tony Larussa Baseball is one of the goats Imo. I was a big stat nerd back then and most if not all pre TLR baseball games had very little to offer in terms of simulation, at least for consoles. Same thing for all of sports console games. Super Tecmo Bowl was one of the first football games to manage stats/season if i remember correctly. Anyways, outside of PC games,TLR baseball was by far one of the pioneers in Stat tradking/simulation for consoles for all sports genres. Thats how I remember it at least.

The Genesis fishing games are fine, some better than others. But, you're right they will never compare to Sega Bass Fishing on the Dreamcast. @RetroSunday3 ай бұрын
Without putting too much thought into it and not in any particular order: Wonder Boy in Monster World, X-Men 2 Clone Wars, Rocket Knight Adventures, Beavis and Butthead, Sonic 2? That's what I came up with off the top of my head. Biggest purchase, like most expensive? Umm, I bought a Pioneer LaserActive CLD-A100 with Pyramid Patrol and the Sega PAC for $400 and sold it for $1200 a couple years later to upgrade Genesis stuff. I have a review on the channel just have to search for it.

wow, that's awesome. I just got most the games I loved as a kid..toe jam and earl, shinobi 3, sonic, vectorman, then decided to keep going, mostly CIB and set of goal of trying to get all the ones under 50 bucks. Some of the prices are in the thousands which....i never see being achievable but you never know! I noticed you have all your stuff organized alphabetically, cool!

Awesome comment, so where are ya with your collecting currently or did ya stop after getting what you wanted? I made an update video recently and the true number of Genesis games is actually 694 (not 693 like the thumbnail of the update video says lol) I've managed to accumulate a decent amount of boxed games since this video and even a few since the update video, I just grab what I don't have if they pop up at a local shop I like. I was able to obtain nearly every titles for under $100 and that's including Crusader of Centy (although I traded about $150 in games for credit at the time) deals are super rare nowadays but they are still out there. Good luck and have a solid rest of your weekend! :D

@@RetroSunday cool, ill check that video out here in a little bit. Thats crazy that you got all those mostly locally for under 100, you got in just in the nick of time. prices on games are mad crazy now a days as im sure you know. I live in the middle of nowhere so mostly utilize ebay for the majority of my purchases but there is a game convention that comes by once every few years. but anyway. I used to just buy whatever, loose carts mostly but have just laid my foot down and only buy complete sega games. After i bought the games i vivdly remember playing it really got the ball rolling and i was like, oh ROAD RASH 2! zombies ate my neighbors, whip rush! anyway. i went through price charting and made a list of games under 50, which is....a lot actually. I will also sell, or try to at least, my loose carts of games i have to make up for purchasing a complete copy. I recently bought warlock, monopoly, and jurassic park for under 50 dollars so that was cool. I also got a sony wega trinitron off fb marketplace for free!
@RetroSunday3 ай бұрын
@@IxBxCAMP Yeah it's pretty cool what you're able to remember and discover once ya dive into the library. Nice score on the tube tv btw. So, I flipped bundles on marketplace for a year or so prior to getting a good job at a local retro video game store. Managed that store for like 4 years so it was easy to collect Genesis at a good price for a little while, but like you said the market just isn't there any more. Warlock was very graphically impressive the first time I played it and gameplay was alright I'd like to try it again soon. Why do you like Whip Rush so much and do you have any other favourite Genesis shooters? I just reviewed it recently, I thought it was solid overall. I reviewed every Genesis shooter so it'll be in my next video I'm working on that video now.
@IxBxCAMP3 ай бұрын
@@RetroSunday dang yeah i bet with working in a game shop you had direct access to a bunch of items. warlock does look really cool. I'll always watch a few videos on youtube about the game I'm about to buy or put on my list to eventually get. It just looked really smooth. I usually play a mage class of some sort in modern games if i can and it seemed kinda mage like. So i think why I like Whip Rush so much is because it was the first shooter like that i had ever played, i can still remember the first time i played it thinking wow this is different. I suppose shooters are kinda cmmon though huh lol. i like the soundtrack and the different combinations of your shooting stuff you can combine. It is insanely difficult though. Ive actually never been able to beat it, i still try every few years though lol. can you recommend any shooters like that style that is not insanely difficult?
@RetroSunday3 ай бұрын
@@IxBxCAMP Makes sense, Whip Rush is above average in my opinion and it does a lot of things fairly well but the Genesis is actually stacked with good shooters surprisingly lol. I'll list a few that are top notch: Elemental Master, MUSHA, Trouble Shooter, Phelios, Truxton, Raiden Trad, Hellfire, Biohazard Battle, Lightening Force, Sunset Riders, Contra Hard Corps and many more :D

NBA Showdown '94, i once broke the backboard with Tim Perry of the 76ers; NBA Live 96 had a cool glitch where you could have more than the allowed create-a-player limit by typing in names already premade in the cartridge database (legends and 1995-96 season rookies) and not altering anything.
