With the way that they build the shocks now unless u buy or have the more top of the line racing struts which are set up for rapid recharging and rebuilding it is cheaper to just replace the struts, and as for lift kits spend the money on a properly made kit or go to a shop or have a friend that works in a fab shop and build proper extension kits better safe than sorry on the trails, and also remember that when they designed these rides they didn't do the builds for being loaded up with gear or kit as I know it lol.

Simple Question. Have you ever taken apart an old 1976 Gilson 826 ?? the one I have I bought it new in 1976 and I am trying to get the impeller Drive assy out so I can straighten the impeller. Thinking it comes out the Front . I have the whole Back end apart but the bearing seems to hit a stop on the shaft and will not slide out and do not want to force it. Not much luck with KZbin or any answers from other Content creators. Tanks Much.. Mike M.
@thehonestmechanic13 күн бұрын
No I have not. Sometimes the bearing has a lock like a set screw holding it. Maybe so.e heat would help? Good luck and thanks for the support
@m9ovich78513 күн бұрын
@@thehonestmechanic I could turn the inner bearing collar. After letting it soak in FREE-ALL for a week, it finally slid off . The bearing is held captive by the Frame and a locking Collar.. Thanks for the Reply..

Mine started using a quart of oil per month at 40,000 miles. They told me at the dealership that that was commonplace for this model.Not good.Hope it doesn't get much worse.

The no light in cargo is really aggravating. I wish they could make engine less noisy at low speed....sounds like a little Tractor. However I do like the way it drives and it's a lot of car for the $$

Seen you on Ken’s livestream today. Subscribed to fellow Canadian. Didn’t quite hear where your from. Watching from Waterloo. I use Pennzoil Platinum for all my vehicles. It’s also one of the only 5L jugs, most others are 4.5L. If you haven’t already seen Lake Speed Jr’s channel (The Oil Geek) he is very knowledgeable and is very good.

Merry Christmas Rick! I was going g to tell you a neat trick for moving your car easily but it doesn't look like it would work in your case! Hahaha 😂 I'll tell you anyway. Just go to one of the tires and turn it and it's much easier to roll. Learned that from another mechanic. Awesome oil drain pan as well!

I use to work as a tire tech. You wouldn’t believe how many people would keep driving a run flat tire with no air in it for weeks even months and wonder why their tire is destroyed . I carry a spare tire , compressor and plug kit. Also have winter tires and all seasons on rims . Swap over every fall and spring. I find you get the most life out of a set of all season tires this way.

When I put my machine in speed sometimes it doesn’t move approximately you think it’s the belts thank you
@thehonestmechanic23 күн бұрын
The belt closest to the engine is the one responsible for drive. Make sure it's in good condition and has proper tension. Another area is the friction wheel and friction plate. If the wheel is worn it can cause slipping. Also make sure they are both clean

Fuel stabilizers barely work if at all. Snake oil I don’t use it anymore. They play with our ego. Non ethanol gas is best. Turn off fuel while still running, run carb dry for engines that sit for long periods. Best to drain all fuel in the tank if it may sit over a year. Shrouds on carb allows it to suck warm air from engine to keep carb from icing up which they likely will even if it does not get any snow in there. With all that I must say you did an excellent job. You saved them a lot of a Hassle and money.

I just fixed a Bolens, which is an MTD snowblower. He broke the starter drive and he broke the pull cord, so he wonder if I can fix it. Took the belt cover off and looked in there first. nothing broke there. remove the spark plug and pour some transmission oil down the cylinder and let it set over night. Use my channel locks, grabbed a hold of the crankshaft and started moving it back-and-forth. It broke free. Took the bowl off the carburetor, cleaned the jet removed all the dirt and drain the gas tank. Put it all back together, put in fresh fuel and a fuel shut off. Started right up got it warm, then changed the oil. I change the pull cord on the recoil to get it started. Runs good now.

Always start the engine, heat it up, then change the oil. All the contaminants fall out of the oil and sit on the bottom of the crank case, by starting it up, the contaminants mix with oil and can be removed. (Or the contaminants can be mixed in with the new oil, It's your choice).
